  10. Number 002 is winging its way to me 😁 It was the tones on the video that sold me (sounds from about 1:20 onwards)
  11. Don't give up your day job, Jack. Oh, you did 😗 😂
  12. New cheaper model. The Grand. Quirky short scale with fuzz circuit. I like it
  13. Simon ended up missing this bass and it didn't quite fit with my band as I had hoped. So we reversed the deal and Si also lobbed in a bottle of single malt whisky, which was above and beyond. Top man!
  14. Now back wearing Pyramid flats
  15. Very much surprised at the lack of interest in this rare beauty. Withdrawing
  16. This is seriously dull now. Unsubscribing
  17. The green AC pictured above was a prototype that Willie Weeks used on tour with Eric Clapton. It was owned at various points by myself and BCer @paulie (and is the one mentioned several years ago in this thread where the hand-cut pickguard didn't quite cover the control cavity; that apart a very nice bass - I just didn't quite get on with J pickups in a P body).
  18. So to summarise: Bassist likes 70s music, especially The Headhunters Bassist likes Fender P bass, as used in The Headhunters Bassist can't understand people paying more money for a hand-built bass which borrows heavily from Fender Move along. Life too short etc
  19. Can I point out that said Paul Jackson now has an ESP signature bass that is (a) not a FSO and (b) has a headstock that makes AC's look like Audrey Hepburn
  20. Actually I don't. I would rather stick needles in my eyes
  21. There are 43,604 members of BassChat. I look forward to the next 43,603 threads starting with "Just my opinion ... but I don't understand why anyone would buy [xyz manufacturer's] basses?"
  22. They are not. They are based on Fenders, like Lulls, Limelights and countless other Fender copies. Noone denies that This comment is based on pure guesswork as you not have played one. The fact that players of the skills of Willie Weeks, Nate Watts and Paul Turner play AC's and that he continues to successfully sell his basses after many years probably tells you that they are quality instruments and not overpriced to the people that choose to play them in preference to other bass manufacturers' instruments.
