  1. PS, I am aware this is getting bumped too often today but I should have added the bass is wearing Pyramid flats for the full-on Free thump. I will now go quiet for 48 hours!
  2. Thanks chaps, it wouldn't be going anywhere if I hadn't just spent a tidy sum on my fabulous '71 Mustang bass. In fact if I am successful in selling one or two other basses, I might withdraw this anyway!
  3. Aha, thank you for the explication! Well it does have a fitted Gibson case, just not the cat-friendly, pink fur lined one!
  4. And another deal with Chris! Bought my beautiful Cliff Bordwell ball bass and all was good
  5. Oops, the post above was supposed to say £725 including 48 hour post with Slinkie rounds fitted
  6. Tried this again at rehearsal last night. Thing of beauty but I am just not as comfortable with the semi-acoustic body as I am with my Mustang. Try me with a close offer!
  7. Was too hasty withdrawing this lovely bass. Truth is it won't get much of a look-in due to my phenomenal '71 Mustang bass. Back up FS it goes at £680 including UK standard delivery
  8. In response to a lowball offer, I am not going below £1400 as I have already paid off most of the cost of my '71 Mustang and as I have a couple of basses I would sell ahead of this one if pushed (MIJ Mustang, Gretsch Broadkaster). Plus, to be blunt, a bog standard American Professional Jazz is £1469 new at Andertons and this is a rare-as-heck 33 y/o beauty!

  10. Would do £725 plus post with the Ernie Ball Slinkies fitted (and I get to keep the TI flats)
  11. Beautiful and relatively rare short scale bass, around 10 years old. Just doesn't sit right with me ergonomically due to hollow body. Made in Japan, top quality and only a few minor blemishes in the finish (definitely 9/10). Wearing La Bella flats and with original hard case. Collection from London (Hammersmith area) preferred but will post UK for extra £25. Sale only, no trades. Trying to pay off my recently-acquired '71 Mustang! Here is previous owner's FS thread with specs etc.
  12. TBH there really isnt much difference sonically, maybe the MIJ has a bit more treble bite and '71 more woody lows but its marginal. The MIJ is slab whereas the '71 has a belly cutout (which I sadly need!) - the latter is lighter by 1 pound, probably due mainly to this. Both are great basses but I love the mojo, weight and vintageness (its a word) of the '71 more
  13. To move this along, I will include standard 48 hour delivery by UPS in the advertised price within the UK Can also swap out flatwound strings for Ernie Ball roundwound Slinkies, if preferred
  14. I have had a bunch of offers on evilBay but would rather sell here if possible, so I will include UK standard (48 hour delivery) post in the £680 price
  15. Not my rig, this is the permanent rig at Brixton Hill Studios. I have a Terror Bass and a Barefaced cab!
  16. £100 price cut to £1400 to get this moved on. If you are tempted, bear in mind you will have enormous difficulty locating another one in this colour scheme
  17. Mighteous sound through Ampeg valve rig at rehearsal tonight
  18. Colour me interested but need to sell a bass or two first (have 4 up FS!!!)
  19. It has a lot of finish checking and crazing that don't appear in my pictures (other than of the headstock) but that makes me like it even more!
