  1. @Sparky MarkJust took these pics. Plus one of the grizzled, probably 40 y/o Mustang-sized hard case my incoming '71 arrived in which could be used to safely transport the MIJ Mustang. I am just south of Hammersmith Bridge
  2. I have some fabulous passive basses but this is much more flexible with the East preamp (its excellent for recording). Plus its super slick and easy to play
  3. Actually, I am withdrawing this as I have 4 other basses up for sale to bring in funds and I do want to keep this one.
  4. Just snaffled this 48 y/o beauty. Weighs just over 7 pounds, which is fabulous for my back/shoulders. Just need to sell a couple of basses to pay for it now!
  5. Major attempted downsize with 4 basses now up for sale (SG, Mustang, Jazz, Bordwell).

      Still in the red!

  6. Loved this bass so much I went and bought the real deal - a '71 vintage Mustang in competition stripe (NBD thread to come in next few days!). As regards pricing, competition stripe Japanese Mustangs are much harder to come by than plain fiesta red or oly white reissues and this is in near mint condition. Reverb has them for about a grand (I paid more than my asking price only a couple of months back). At the same sort of price as a Vintera and less than a JMJ I think this is fair. As a reminder these are based on 60s reissues and so have the skinnier J width neck. Weighs 8 pounds, plays and sounds fabulous. Wearing TI flats (eagle eyed will spot that it has also had LaBella Mustang flats on, but I have swapped them on to my incomer). No dedicated gigbag but I will improvise with something gigbag-ish and ensure its safely packed if post is required (£20 UK; £65 ex-UK)
  7. It was indeed mine (briefly). Ironically it would work well in my brand new (and very loud) country punk band ... but I have that covered with an Orange Terror Bass otherwise I would be asking to buy it back. So have a bump on me instead!
  8. In truth, I would like to keep this bass and sell my Cliff Bordwell Ball bass (even though this is an awesome bass, I just prefer the less skinny neck on my ACG and its more flexible electronics)
  9. Specifications here (in more detail than you could possibly wish for) http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2015/USA/SG-Standard-Bass.aspx
  10. Acquired recently but prefer my Mustang. Very good condition bar a couple of minor nicks, plus the strap pin by the heel of the neck has been resited to prevent neck dive. Weighs 8 pounds. Comes with gold coloured Gibson case which has one sizeable, courier-inflicted dent but is fully functional and protected the bass itself from aforementioned courier! Collection London (Hammersmith area) or posted for £20 in UK. *Price cut to £680 (plus post if needed)* No trades, a fund raiser
  11. Back up, the potential buyer snaffled another ACG before having the chance to view mine. So any other takers?
  12. Back off hold, trade turned out to be overly complicated. For sale at £1300 plus post
  13. PS, here's a track I recorded with this bass (click on Walking in the Past) https://bandoliertales.bandcamp.com/album/bandolier-tales
  14. Yep, as the man says ^^^ (thanks!), for the price of a factory line US Precision you can buy this astounding piece of luthiery and stand out from the crowd
