1. BTW, if anyone wanted my Handbox amp as well as my Barefaced BB2 cab and is prepared to collect, I will knock another £55 off the combined price and make it £1,075. For that you get a top quality, loud and mint condition rig.

3. Here is the great Oteil Burbridge playing his fretted Gold Tone banjo bass
4. In case anyone is after an as-new R400, I have one for sale in the forum
5. It does say it can handle up to 800W ... which would be rare for an amp to produce at 8 ohms. A typical 500W amp at 4 ohms (eg MarkBass LM2) will put out 300-350W at 8 ohms which is way below what this cab can handle
6. Afraid that I do not know as the only stats I have are on the BF link. Maybe someone else can chime in here?
7. Here you go https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Big-Baby-2.htm
8. Hi its 8 ohms. Works well with DB as its quite uncoloured although its a bit OTT for me (I use a Gallien MB500 amp and Barefaced One10 with my DB)
9. Oddballest of the oddball, an uber-rare fretless banjo bass, made by Gold Tone. Cost me over £600 to import from US (doh!) but I would be prepared to let go for £250 picked up in London or with post an extra £15-20. Mag pickup and Thomastik flatwound strings on it but originally had clanky roundwounds on. Its a little agricultural sounding (quite boomy on the lows and banjo-ey on the highs) but fun and looks very cool for anything Americana related. Comes with slightly battered hard case (one clasp sheared) and shoulder strap. Please note the side dots are seemingly at random so I use blobs of Tippex for intonation ....
10. Top quality electric upright bass made by Mo Clifton. Bought from the lovely Mr Bassman on BC but just not getting any use, so I am putting it up for sale. Comes with padded gig bag, knee and top extensions for balance, and now wearing low tension Spirocore Solo strings (can throw in gut-like Presto Nylon strings as well, if wanted, as seen in last pic). Bit awkward to post so collection/meet preferred in London (Hammersmith ideally) These generally run to around £1,000-1,300 second hand so I will accept the low end of this range. No trades.
11. Bought a few months ago from top BCer Harry and as minty as it gets (see pics). I have never gigged it as my GK MB500 plus BF One 10 mini-rig has delivered all my needs. Comes with cover. £550 collected from London (Hammersmith area) as I don't have a box large enough. No further explanation needed as you know the score. Sorry about the socks (last year's Fathers Day pressie ...)
12. I got this a couple of months back from Handbox at a cost including delivery from Poland of £680. You know the score (Mesa Walkabout on steroids). Literally used for less than 2 hours at home as my small rig (GK MB500 plus BF One 10) has covered my limited gigging needs and as my upright bass is better served by the Gallien amp. £590 including UK next-day post for a completely mint, essentially-unused amp, saving you £90 on importing one yourself. Or £580 collected from London (Hammersmith area), a saving of £100.
13. Based on this thread I downloaded Sinatra at the Sands. Just fabulous (the Basie Orchestra are so on top of their game it's amazing)
14. Adrian bought a double bass string off me (v expensive gut one) and all was good!
Did you mention what basses were being used to Mrs C? And if so did she reply with a "oh, good grief! ", in a slightly exasperated manner? Because that's what Mrs Marvin would have done if I'd pointed such a thing out
On this occasion I kept the bass identification to myself :-)

I was there last night as well - Mrs C is a big fan. Not my cup of tea but, as stated above, they put on a very good show and the front man's banter was excellent. Bassist (geek alert) played a black Fender Jazz mainly but a black Jack Casady appeared for a song or two
18. Edgar Froese's untimely death made me drag out a copy of Ricochet which I hadn't listened to in years. Just sublime. Why did I forget it for so long?
19. Top marks Dave/Rev, superbly helpful response - and bang on the mark
20. Never really a fan but Visage was part of the backdrop to my musical youth (I bought the first Spandau Ballet single 'To cut a long story short' on release and flirted with New Romanticism). Makes me sad in an utterly selfish way, as I am of a similar age and he was there in the NME etc that I used to read avidly as a teen. I said it was a selfish viewpoint but thats how I feel
21. If I was nearer Scotland, I know what I would be buying. Rabbie's Duke is pure DB porn
