Too many to mention, as I am of a certain age and thus reminisce! Just picking two though, from my early teens, Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis. Late teens, Closer - Joy Division

The most highly praised metal wrapped gut G out there, as used by Chris Wood and other greats. Sounds fab with Spiro EAD but I am sticking with plain gut. Its only a month or so old, gigged a couple times and on the bass for perhaps 3 weeks. Virtually mint (or at least as mint as any DB string is having been fitted and then removed). £65 posted to you (UK). New price at Stringzone is £90 (Thomann is c.£85 inc post to UK but currently out of stock)

Anyone know Estuary Bass Company? Update: all sorted now
Clarky replied to Clarky's topic in General Discussion
Sorted, the owner (Dave) got back to me this evening with an apologetic email (they have moved premises and as a consequence missed stuff on the website) and has refunded. So all is good bar the delay (I have ordered a pickup cover from another supplier, hopefully arrives in next few days) -

Thanks Nige, nothing from the other email so far but I guess its a Saturday so best wait until Monday before deciding what to do -
Hi all, I occasionally jam and gig with a lovely collection of acoustic musicians in Brixton, known as the Umbrellabirds. Can be anywhere from a few to a dozen musicians (mandolins, acoustic guitars, vox, fiddle etc) on any given night. They are looking for a regular double/upright bass player to join them. They play an eclectic mix of Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings Machine, Uncle Tupelo, Oh Brother Where art Thou, Hank Williams etc. My side project Tupelo Uncles includes four of these fine folk. The Unmbrellabirds meet on a Monday night in the Queen's Head pub in Brixton (in the garden on nice evenings or inside otherwise) and play occasional gigs in the South London area too (maybe once every 1-2 months). I have played with them a few times and its very relaxed and good fun, its just that Monday nights are generally bad for me work-wise so I rarely make it. Anyone interested drop me a line and I can put you in touch with Jason Collins, the leader/organiser and all-round good egg
Not sure if this is any help. Phone number, Email and address. I think it's the same company, down at the Southend Estuary. http://www.schaller-...ass-Company.htm EDIT : The phone number is on a website, so not giving away private details.
cheers! Emailed again (different address), if I get no reply will call and take from there -
I recently ordered a control plate from them and although it took a few days extra to arrive it did actually make its way to me
Good to hear, maybe all is not lost after all -
Hey Lozz, I bet he was just playing with the neck pickup fully on and the tone rolled off so it sounded (relatively) close to a P!

Good point Musky. It's not that it's a big sum of money, it's the principle. But even so I may as well try PayPal refund process if I get radio silence -

Post on their FaceBook page looks very similar to my situation and they didn't reply to it - I am going to write off the bridge cover and put it down to experience: Hi guys, I have emailed you a few times over the last few days. I ordered on Monday a set of Gotoh vintage tuners for my Fender Jazz, and had asked that I needed to get them by Friday & was this possible? I note the site now says they are out of stock. This is my order number: 12/040814/39 Thanks, Brian Morris. -

Actually their FaceBook is now working for me now but they haven't posted there since October. I noticed their page was liked by our very own Gary Mac! -

I ordered a chrome Fender bridge cover from this company on Monday and paid by Paypal. The item was shown as being in stock. Four days later, nothing in the post and no confirmation bar Paypal payment email. I checked the website today and the item is shown as out of stock so I emailed to see if the cover was on its way or - if not - to cancel order. I have received no reply. There is no telephone number or address on their website, they say get in contact via FaceBook (page no longer exists) or email only. Now the cost was not large (<£20) but its the principle that rankles. Does anyone know them? Maybe its a small family business and they have the flu or something? But a simple email to let me know whats going would be nice. Harumph http://www.estuarybasscompany.co.uk/ -
I think these are very cool, I contemplated buying one but the new price of over £1k seemed exorbitant. BCer Paul King has one (he posted pics on TalkBass) and lovely it is too!

Neil is a gent. He saw my items wanted ad for a 51 style Fender bridge and offered to send me one free of charge but for a possible donation to BC funds at my discretion (which I was very happy to do). Just a day or so later I have the bridge in my hand and its exactly what I need. Top man!

You are not being treated badly! You have had lots of useful advice as to how to sell your bass on this forum which you seem to ignore. I will spell it out: Proper pictures posted here (not links), a proper description of the bass (what is original, what isn't, any damage etc) and - if the price is right - your bass will sell. If you cannot be bothered with making these efforts your bass will not sell. Simple Your choice!

Here is an example of a Fullerton Jazz (83) that sold on this site to give you an idea of how you might approach selling your bass. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/239600-sold-fender-jazz-january-83-fullerton-reissue/page__p__2500900__hl__fullerton__fromsearch__1#entry2500900 You will see it was on sale for considerably less than the €3000 you are are seeking. We are not allowed to comment on price on this site but you might be advised to research sale prices for other Fullertons (eg a mint Precision '57 went for the equivalent of less than €2000 in the past month)

Bought the same bass that Lozz owned briefly and sold back to Ben! Very straightforward deal, couldn't have been easier. Cheers Ben
