  3. Bought recently off the forum from Steff but, after comparing the two, I now prefer the fat valviness of my Orange Terror Bass amp (and I have discovered the latter has all the headroom I could realistically need). Still in good condition and comes with the Mesa padded bag. Collect London (Hammersmith area) or delivery within UK for £15 extra. No trades, sale only - unless you have a Fiesta red MIJ Mustang bass ....
  4. ahhhh I posted this in Amps section of Gear forum but see this had already appeared in the General Discussion forum. Apologies for double post then

  6. Well, I am a fan of the Perpetuals. Very Spiro like overall but relatively low tension and super flexible (as in feel more like spaghetti than cables!) I think you will be impressed
  7. I suspect if you were able to post this would have gone weeks ago (eg, to me!), absolute bargain
  8. Happy with my EBS Valvedrive but - as an addendum - Royal Mail managed to b*gger my DHA VT1 when I sold it on via the forum. Not sure if that speaks to the inherently greater fragility of valve-based pedals or simply incompetent, heavy handedness on the part of Royal Mail (but I know which side I would place my money on) 🙄
  9. Fretless custom ACG, ACG Recurve, Fender 62RI Jazz, Gretsch Broadkaster, Cliff Bordwell Ball, Takamine TB10, 3/4 German double bass = 7 (two of which are for sale) Apologies to the 9 brigade
  10. Update: £100 price cut to £1400. Delivery extra
  11. Update: £100 price cut to £1300, including new (never left house) semi-rigid Gator case. Delivery extra
  12. And here is the genius Renaud Garcia Fons using a technique that seems halfway between the two - in other words, what ever works!
  13. More pics of this one-off custom beauty
  14. Needs must (and I am not prepared to sell my ACG Recurve), so this one-off beauty is back up FS
  15. Going for the One. Just for the opening bars of Parallels alone, let alone the rest
  16. Michael League demo'ing the same model as yours, Essential Tension
  17. I bought a set of DB strings from Andy. Perfect in every respect - friendly comms, well packed and kept informed every step of the way. Nice one matey!
  18. ooh thats lovely. I drooled for ages over the TV yellow version of this model that was at BassDirect around a year back. Funds were not forthcoming at that point so I missed it, boo!
  19. I have an AI Clarus and - as others have said - it sounds better with DB, likewise I at one time had an EA Micro 550 which was better with DB. HOWEVER, in each case this can be rectified simply via a warm-sounding preamp (eg Sansamp BDDI, MXR M80, EBS ValveDrive, etc etc) or overdrive pedal (TC Mojo comes highly recommended on BC for a low cost option, or Darkglass Vintage Microtubes for pricier option). I have an EBS Valvedrive (valve-driven preamp) and this helps my my electric bass sound fab through the AI.
  20. The buyer had some misfortunes so had to withdraw. Back up for sale
  21. I know this could go in Items Wanted but I have a feeling few people read that forum. My preferred strings are Pirastro Perpetual steel (like a softer, more flexible Spirocore) but I may be playing some fast country/cowpunk stuff with a new band and I think the super low tension of Silver/Golden Slaps will suit that specific setting better. So does anyone have a spare set they want to sell (not the Super SIlvers BTW, only the regular Silver or Golden Slaps, thanks)? Cheers
  22. Always wanted to try a Gretsch Broadkaster (MIJ around 10 years ago) and have finally snaffled one. Short scale thumpy with flats on and should work well in my country/blues tinged bands.
