  1. I AM Melvyn Whittaker
  2. And there was me thinking Frankie Howerd had passed away years ago
  3. Nope just stick em on. Need to press hard to make them adhere properly or they can shift a little. Once in place they are pretty stable (they only move if you apply a lot of pressure and slide them or if you deliberately pick them off with finger nail). The pack comes with multiple sizes of dots and longer lozenge shapes
  4. This is what I use https://glowtec.co.uk/fret-finders/
  5. I see Guy has put some big stickers or blobs of Tippex/similar to increase visibility of side dots on his famous Jazz bass Betsy. Not just me then that needs visual aids (as opposed to purely muscle memory) ... so does bass playing royalty!
  6. I carried my now-departed 1973 Ric 4000 in it, yes. However, do more modern Rics have same body dimensions as those of early 70s??
  7. You know the drill with these top quality semi-hard gig bags. Barely used (couple of gigs and a handful of practices when I had a Ric). I only have short scale basses now so this is redundant. If bought new from UK based retailers they are about £220-230. So how about £110 collected from the car park by Barnes Rail Station SW13 or £130 posted within the UK (delivery is not cheap as it doesn't fold!)?
  8. Decided this might come in handy at some point, when I eventually get back into being in a band, so am hanging on to it. Plus its fun to have one bass with rounds and the other (Wilcock) with flats around the house. Withdrawn
  9. Link to last EP which features 4 set faves https://wearetheinsect.bandcamp.com/album/dark-places
  10. If anyone is looking for a bass playing role in a melodic, gigging goth/post punk band based in North London, give me a shout. I have had to give up playing in The InSect but would like to help them find my replacement

  11. Hi all, I have had to give up my bass spot in The InSect due to conflicting personal commitments. Nice band with some good gigs and about to record album in spring. Anyone interested, give me a shout
  12. Met Gareth yday to hand over my Orange terror rig. Friendly comms, paid in advance, couldn't ask for more! Oh and just spotted I did a deal with him for a pedal on BC in March 2013. Blimey time flies!
  13. Or £775 collected by Barnes Rail Station, SW13 London
  14. wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a HNY!

  15. Thinking about the video comparison, the basses sound similar (albeit not identical) when recorded clearly and without the accompanying cacophony of other instruments in a band. If you then crank this up to a live band situation, I think there are very few people who would be able to tell any difference at all
  16. Colin Greenwood of Radiohead using a 70s Mustang (from his new book of photographs over the course of his career)
  17. You may be right Chris but I am on a downer with music now. Just quit my band and hadn't even used this rig even when gigging
  18. Good lord, £400 collected from car park in front of Barnes Rail Station, SW13 London Was there ever a better deal on BC for an amp with custom made cover, plus parts to convert to standard, DI taming cable, hard case thrown in together with a quality 1x12 cab, with Orange padded cover? Answer: no. Madness
  19. Cut to £675, over a £225 saving on new. Collected only, sorry, as no box
