1. Fortunately I believe our Roger is on the road to recovery Happy Chrimble to the BassChat DB massive from me. Definitely the friendliest part of the forum IMHO
2.
My new arrival, a 74 P.
Lovely basss Gary, Roger Waters- and JJ-tastic!
3. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item417a61a4da I particularly like the strap holder on the back of the neck and the randomly sited fretless lines
4. I've owned a couple of lovely Mk 1 fretlesses (Happy Jack now has one of them) and these were a delight. I wasn't so impressed with a fretted Mk 2 I owned and quickly sold on as the neck was not for me (V-shaped and very deep) and it was too heavy for my dodgy back
5. Hey Lenny, would love to be there but its my son's 16th birthday do that evening. Hope its a blast and do keep us in touch with any trumphal follow-up dates
6. Surely the punters must also think they are too loud? If you can get some comments from the crowd then that should help persuade your guys to turn down. The alternatives are to get a mag pickup (no feedback; make the guitarists split the cost between them) or to pack up and find another band. I'd be inclined to find out what the audience thinks first though
7. Metallica - Black album bass tab book £7 Metallica - And justice for all bass tab book (yes there was bass on the album!) £7 Metallica - Bass legendary licks - a look at the bass styles of Metallica £6 Black Sabbath - riff by riff bass tab £7 Best of Slipknot - bass tab book £5 NB, all three Metallica books together would be £18 posted, a 10% discount
8. I use that Snark model too, very nifty tuner although occasioally I do have to hit the harmonic on the E string to tune my DB
9. Another dodgy deal in Travelodge car park. Security cameras must be buzzing! Actually, we just traded a couple of nice Fender basses and all was good, per my previous (multiple) dealings with Nick
10.
A trade? Clarky, your head is so easily turned by a pretty picture
Something Jazz shaped incoming Karl - at least I know I can deal with a 1.5" nut width (oo err, missus)
11.
oo this is a lovely bass! I've got one of the recent MIM cabronita's and that's pretty good but this looks 'special'!!
Thanks Andy, these are also hard to get hold of new. The usual suspects (GAK etc) don't have stock and the main Fender Japan importer (The Guitar Emporoium) lists them at £1159! http://www.theguitaremporium.com/Fender-Japan-OPB51-SD-FJ-OPB51-SD.htm MIne is not only in superb condition but has choice of original bridge and pickup or improved versions (see AndyBob07's FS post, linked above, for details)
12. OK, refine that. All BCers with whom I have done biz apart from Old Horse Murphy for whom there is a £50 premium
13. bump! One day £50-off offer to any BC-er with whom I have previously done business So thats £500 collected or £525 posted if I have given you some feedback in the past
14. Andy bought a double bass string off me. All good! Can't believe there is no feedback thread for him, so I'm starting one
15.
I was fond of Judas Priest's 'Unleashed in the East' ('Green Manalishi'!!)
Excellent - I also liked their (brave for a metal/rock band) Joan Baez cover, Diamonds and Rust on the accompanying vinyl EP to Unleashed in the East I also happened to see them at the Apollo on the UK leg of that door and got front row seats. I touched Rob's boot. Please psycho-analyse that
16. We are actually the same person, although I find legging it between Wales and London is tiring, unless I hitch a ride on the Interparcel delivery van
17. Bilbo, are you revving up for a GOD I LOVE 70'S HEAVY ROCK thread? FWIW, the young metal-head Clarky's favorite album of said genre was Sad Wings of Destiny by Judas Priest but I do enjoy Light in the Black and Stargazer (rest of album not so good IMHO)
18. Ditto ^^^^^ Yep. Clarky. again. doing deal. with Beedster. again. top man. again
19.
What are your feelings about BF cabs? I don't know but I've just checked out his new Simplexx cabs.
I saw what you did there For the OP, Bill Fitzmaurice = BF as well as Barefaced = BF
20. To be clear, the price of £575 includes post in UK. Will do for £550 handed over in London
