1. sounds like a good shout to me, Lozz. I left my last band (even though the music was great) when politics, internal griping etc meant the fun had gone
2.
Have a word with Clarky... or Beedster!
Oi!
3. Couldn't you turn it into a bird table or something, Chris!
4. Jon is indeed a top bloke and for anyone checking out this thread please be aware that he changed his BC username. So he has an old feedback thread here too: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/36781-fb-for-jonthebass/page__p__1689669__hl__jonthebass__fromsearch__1#entry1689669
5. Hey Nige, others have had that problem. There's another link on post 9 above that does work. Cheers Clarky!
6. Apparently the voting link doesn't work for everyone - here's an alternative if the main one goes wonky http://644512.polldaddy.com/s/spiral-awards-2014 Muchos gracias!
7.
Could you guys also vote for The Dodge Brothers whilst you are there, my fave film critic's band.
done
8. Music website Spiral Earth has short listed All The Queens Ravens' 'Hearts for Judas' in the best debut album category Would much appreciate a vote if you think (like L'Oreal) we're worth it Link here: http://www.spiralear...14/nominees.asp And here's a reminderette of what my band is like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0noHL4khCeM
9. Sorry Jigster, I clean forgot - yes, his band Thiose Among Us Are Wolves are quite excellent and I hope to catch them next time they play the smoke
10. Add in import duty of just over 20% and this comes to about £1250, which is not a bad price for a mint, as-new TF fretless - and we all know how hard these are to find in the UK (ask walbassist!) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-Fender-USA-Artist-Tony-Franklin-Precision-P-Bass-Fretless-Sunburst-Unplayed-/321315543061?pt=Guitar&hash=item4acfe61815
11. The twin of Harry's bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyQMnagdwyw
12. This was the KK that I was looking at buying. A beauty and as you know from his feedback Harry is a top guy. Someone snap this up!
13. I now play exclusively finger style, but that comes from gigging double bass for the past 3 years. However, when I used to play with a pick (eg, in punk and metal bands) I played MUCH faster with a thin flexible pick. I found stiffer picks occasionally 'jammed on the strings', completely throwing out my rhythm.
14. As an alternative, the MarkBass Mini CMD112P (which I know you've been trying to locate for a trial) is a very versatile small combo or - for a high end pricier option - there's the Glockenlang Blue Soul head http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228079-glockenklang-blue-soul-head/page__pid__2355819#entry2355819
15. Hi Keith do you still have he Phil Jones Super Flightcase? Wouldn't that do the job?
16. Russ just dropped me a PM today, drove around a couple of hours later and bought my 74/5 Jazz there and then, after a quick try-out It doesn't get any easier than that! Very friendly guy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others, as per the excellent feedback on this thread. Enjoy the bass, Russ! Cheers Clarky
17. Penultimate day bump!
18. On hold, pending a viewing this afternoon
19.
It would take too long to master those moves ...why do I mentally link to an image of a randy poodle clinging onto someone's leg?
I particularly like the sudden 'dropping of the shoulders and pout at camera' move. The man is a legend in his own house
20. this one? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227643-rare-yamaha-bb2024mx-trade-anyone/page__p__2347619__hl__yamaha__fromsearch__1#entry2347619
