1.
Really nice looking bass Nick. What is the nut width please? Bump.
I can answer that Karl, its 1.625", so its halfway between a Jazz (1.5") and a late 50s/60s Precision (1.75") and the same as the current US Standard Precision
2.
If Slipknot ever need a Reindeer they need look no further.
The Clark household comprised reindeer, lamb, cow, pig and penguin. Slipknot would have run away in terror
3.
Great! Just needs a mask

4. My new look
5. Here's a before and after shot, showing what the Flitz did for the brass on my bass
6. Good work! I just cleaned up years of tarnish and gunk off the brass bridge on my recently acquired Alembic with Flitz paste (its what Alembic recommend for cleaning brass components) Link here, £7 http://www.transtools.co.uk/accessories/polishing-and-buffing/flitz-paste-polish-for-metal-plastic-and-fiberglass-50g
7.
No chance - he'll be at The Emirates.
Correct. Back after a frustrating game, soaked to skin and having had to listen to some of the worst throwback 70s neanderthal football thugs "chanting" on the tube about Auschwitz, Hillsborough and "breajking your f*ckin neck". Mourinho must be so proud Back on topic, I'm (gasp) not GAS'ing for anything bass related, so wasn't me
8. Nice one Dave and Mrs Dave! Lovely news

10.
Can you post a pic without the ashtrays? Ta.
voila
11. Owen you could always nip over to music-outlet-shop to pick up this fixer-upper bargain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50s-FRAMUS-TRIUMPH-UPRIGHT-ELECTRIC-BASS-/121223651642?pt=Guitar&hash=item1c397e213a Or maybe not

13. Bargain price for a superb DB combo, bearing in mind the amp head (which is removable) will run you more than that alone. Price list here (the 2-channel combo is now about £1500!): http://www.acousticimg.eu/AI_UK_RETAIL_PRICE.pdf
14. I recently traded this with Nick (my damaged left hand needed a slimmer Jazz type neck profile). It is a stunner and looks like it left the factory last week, not nearly 20 years ago, and has superb upgrades (with original bridge and pickup should you wish to restore to stock). Highly recommended
15. I have recently been listening to 'The Geese and the Ghost' by Anthony Phillips, the pre-Hacket guitarist for Genesis and its a great reminder how important he was to setting the tone for early 70s Genesis as well as a virtual-Genesis album (Mike Rutherford co-wrote quite a bit of it and plays on it, vox are by Phil Collins). If you like Trespass and Nursery Cryme this will be right up your street Here's a nice YouTube compilation of the album plus extras:
16.
Both my RB5s weighed roughly 5Kg which is why I sold'em. Agreed that they balance well, but balance will only get you so far. Eventually, physics kicks in ...
wot does say it weighs c8.5 pounds which is pretty light in my book
17. Socks are good for metal
18. Fortunately I believe our Roger is on the road to recovery Happy Chrimble to the BassChat DB massive from me. Definitely the friendliest part of the forum IMHO
19.
My new arrival, a 74 P.
Lovely basss Gary, Roger Waters- and JJ-tastic!
20. I assume they are double bass strings
21. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item417a61a4da I particularly like the strap holder on the back of the neck and the randomly sited fretless lines
22. I've owned a couple of lovely Mk 1 fretlesses (Happy Jack now has one of them) and these were a delight. I wasn't so impressed with a fretted Mk 2 I owned and quickly sold on as the neck was not for me (V-shaped and very deep) and it was too heavy for my dodgy back
23. Hey Lenny, would love to be there but its my son's 16th birthday do that evening. Hope its a blast and do keep us in touch with any trumphal follow-up dates
24. Surely the punters must also think they are too loud? If you can get some comments from the crowd then that should help persuade your guys to turn down. The alternatives are to get a mag pickup (no feedback; make the guitarists split the cost between them) or to pack up and find another band. I'd be inclined to find out what the audience thinks first though
