1.
PM
Hi Hector, i am currently waiting to hear back from a BCer local to me about a trial with the cab. Sorry but he PM'd first. If he doesn't want it then I will be in contact
2. In response to a couple of requests to come round to test out the cab, I'm afraid Mrs C has finally drawn the line about me having people I do not know round to the house (not surprising if you see the amount of feedback I have ...). So I show below a couple of reviews of the cab and a coupel of Youtube clips to give people a better (and independent) idea of how these high quality, very clean sounding cabs perform: http://twogeargeeks.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/epifani-ul-112/ http://twogeargeeks.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/epifani-ul-112/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRlTKihaHKQ&feature=player_embedded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63FSRWoI3bU&feature=player_embedded
3.
Mmmm, keep me posted Clarky C
The cab is probably on its way to AndyDye Chris, sorry. If you want an EA Micro, drop me a PM (great amp, ludicrously small but I might just stick with my Acoustic Image)
4.
gonna continue on your crazy 8 thread methinks...
Indeed! So back on topic, and to save people reading several irrelevant posts, my Epi UL112 is for sales at the final knock-down, cheap as chips price of £300 collected (post about £15-20 extra)
5. Yep, sounds great. I think another BCer has one (BassBod or Bassbus?) and has gigged it with electric and was very happy with it. Its not earth-shattering lows and volumes but you have bigger cabs for that anyway - its for hi-fi quality sound reproduction on a micro/convenient scale
6. Hi Andy, I've never tried an Accugroove so I'm not qualified to comment on relative volumes. Here's the Crazy 8 specs (and the TalkBass thread gives a ton of reviews, including for electric bass as well as upright http://www.talkbass....274/index6.html ) 10.5" W x 13.25" H x 12.0" D. Built in 5-ply arauco, weight (w/tweeter) 14-17 lbs. Weight (sub version w/o tweeter) 12-15 lbs. 200 watt power handling, 8 ohm impedance, sensitivity 95dB@1W
7.
I'm after something smaller than this or I'd be in there (and I'm not local either)!
this is what you need Andy, the ultimate coffee shop cab http://basschat.co.uk/topic/206173-crazy-8-cab-1x8-cab-designed-for-double-bass-meinl-carry-bag/page__pid__2100439#entry2100439
8. I'll do you a good deal, Chris, on an EA Micro plus the Crazy 8 and Meinl bag - the ultimate in easy, small footprint rigs for DB
9. Sod it, £300 is final offer (collected; post is extra). I got a very good deal from a BCer on a Markbass amp the other day so this is a similarly good deal
10. I will include postage in the price if in the UK or - if collected - knock £20 off. As above, would also entertain trades against small-footprint DB (and wife!) friendly combos primarily for home practice (PJB Flightcase, GK MB150S or 200MB, Markbass Minimark) with appropriate cash adjustment
11. I can really see those instruments suiting the vibe of the Jetsonics, Ad. Result!
12. Here's Jack playing the bass (photo courtesy of Silvia/Bluejay)
13. Hey Paul, hope you have a great couple of gigs - 'fraid I am otherwise engaged (Stone Roses gig on Friday and family birthday dinner Saturday). Break a leg but not that lovely (very) red bass!
14. A bargainous £330 or trade/px against a PJB Flightcase or GK MB150s combo
15. Having determined (after an ill-thought-through dalliance with selling it) that my BigE 4x5 is going to be my go-to rig for gigging double bass, I am putting my Crazy 8 cab up FS again. Its a really lovely sounding cab with a teensy footprint that belies its sound capabilities but the truth is its unlikely to get used much given the BigE Cash sale preferred but would consider a small DB-specific/oriented combo (GK, PJB) in px/trade for simple home practice
16. Another lovely tort s/p from Howard. All good, as always
17.
This was re-opened by Hamster, hence the above post. It's still for sale or trade. I'd be prepared to sell it for less than I would trade it for, so I'd take £699 for it in cash, as my TRB GAS is just getting too much to bear these days!
£699 is madly cheap for a Warwick with custom neck. I used to own this and its a fabulous bass, just a bit wide for my dodgy (broken, falling down stairs, never properly healed) left hand. Superb range of tones and built like a tank
18.
For £3000 I'd save my money and get a new one... or save my money and get a RoadWorn - both lovely basses.
Well OHM is selling his for £2450, so you could save £500
19. Hi Dave, it can handle the volume alright. My (short-lived) issue was that it was overly spec'd for my band in that its subtleties and capabilities were not being optimised in the wall of sound we ended up having to make at our last gig!
20. I have and I do apologise if I led on. I have the attention of a bumblebee and put the FS ad up at a weak moment, in the wake of a very disappointing gig (soundman left without a word, without setting up the PA, and we ended up just boosting volumes to overcome a very noisy, largely drunken audience in a social club). At that gig I really might as well have been playing through a cr@ppy cheap Far Eastern combo, rather than a state-of-the-art piece of engineering like the Arnolopol MA45.
21.
Sounds like a superb if whispered price mate!
Thanks Andy, sometimes my work PC changes font size
22. [sup]How does £330 collected or £345 posted sound?[/sup]
23. Hmmm, after sleeping on this I am not so sure this is a good idea. While its arguably over-spec'd for my band, it does sound very, very nice indeed and is likely to be of more use to me than my Crazy 8 cab (which is more for rehearsals and coffee shop gigs). Withdrawing. Apologies to those who had been considering this
24. I don't need two fretless basses and - given I could do with some cash (three significant family birthdays coming up) and my AE fretless hasn't found any takers - I would still potentially sell this beauty Photo from Saturday's BassBash with both fretless basses: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/199015-mid-hertsnorth-london-bash/page__view__findpost__p__2097230
