  1. Kay reissue of the short scale (31.25") model famously played by Howlin' Wolf bass player, Andrew “Blueblood” McMahon. Excellent condition. Very light and thumpy and with cool white art deco (?) case. In exact same condition as when I bought it from @kristo nearly a year ago as the Americana band/project it was bought for never came to fruition (common BC story ....). Prefer handover in SW London as don't currently have a box. However, willing to post at cost if given time to source something protective enough. Bit cheeky (hope he doesn't mind) but the picture is one of Kristo's (as alluded to, its not left my house or been used since I acquired it so is in exact same condition) and I attach his FS link with other pics. kvrcatalogmodern.pdf
  2. Like @Beedster its an itch I would like to scratch at some point. Violin basses seem pretty versatile as evidenced by their use by reggae greats (Robbie Shakespeare etc) as well as industrial punksters Cabaret Voltaire (below).
  3. That was a 34" scale "horizontal" banjo bass! I would just be intrigued to hear what a full DB-scaled banjo bass sounds like!
  4. Still FS as those medical bills don't pay themselves. Hard to think you will find an early 70s Mustang in better condition
  5. NAMM had a very nice new version of this bass with f-hole. Lovely
  6. Haha, no! But have bought and sold too many basses, including to each other, over the years 🤪
  7. I have had this problem also when the nut slot had been filed too wide and I then used a narrow gauge A (specifically a TI Jazz Flat A). My work arounds were (1) to restring carefully so the string was emerging from the very bottom of the tuner peg and/or (2) to use a fret wrap just behind the nut
  8. FWIW, I have always contacted Will by WhatsApp (using their published mobile number) and over the course of several transactions he has always been very quick to respond and very friendly with it
  9. Which also originated from - and now resides again with - @Clarky 😆 The circle of BassChat life init
  10. love it! Were my old voodoo swamp blues band Rattlin Bone still actively gigging, I would be PM'ing you!
  11. This is what I use: removable glow-in-dark fretboard dot stickers https://glowtec.co.uk/fret-finders/
  12. This guy was after a Cali76 only a few days ago
  13. Forgot to add weight: 3.54kg/7.8 pounds
  14. Putting up this gorgeous '73 Mustang bass for sale (for what I paid for it around six months ago). Sounds and plays beautifully with wonderfully vibrant burst and chocolatey rosewood board. Superb condition for a 50 year old bass with lots of little surface indentations but no nasty dings. Wearing La Bella Mustang flats. Comes with new Fender padded short scale gigbag. £2750 collected from SW13 London or post at cost, as agreed with the buyer.
  15. Andy bought a pedal from me and everything was spot on, quick payment, friendly clear comms. Couldn't ask for more!
  16. PS, this is also FS (at a price reflecting the fees) on Reverb. I am going to end the sale tomorrow night if there are no bids and sell something else instead (those medical bills don't pay themselves)
  17. New price for a Rob Allen Mouse at BassDirect is now an eye-watering £4350. So this lovely bass is, in relative terms, a bargain.
  18. Needs must after unplanned medical bills. Now back up for sale at reduced price of £2200 plus delivery (if required) at cost, as agreed by the buyer. Strictly no trades, this is a fundraiser
