1. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1560534/slayer-guitarist-jeff-hanneman-dead-at-49 Totally sucks, especially after all the terrible health struggles he had after that spider bite from which he contracted flesh-eating bacteria
2. I just bought a Sansamp Para Driver from Dave. Not only was it in great shape but Dave kindly delivered to my office. How's that for service? Top man

4. Go into your profile (top right) and then into Manage your attachments. Delete old large pics. Bingo!
5. On my browser only part of the title of this thread comes up. It reads: Ladies moaning about husband's 'excessive' gu... I had a number of thoughts as to what the missing letters might spell
6. Bump with reminder of possible p/x option against Acoustic Image 2-channel Clarus

8. Bump for my old pedal which I had custom made. Beautiful valveyness and a DI, superb piece of gigging kit
9. Hey, TNIT. This TalkBass thread has contact details for Cordes Lambert and it seems they reply quickly to emails http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f17/cordes-lambert-n-dubouchet-strings-631595/ And an excuse to see some of the talent of endorsee Nicholas Dubouchet
10.
Ah thank you Not sure I could afford that
LC is going to sell this bass at an 'affordable' price according to an interview I read. If you go to his website it says its basically still not in production and there's a link to register so they will send update details http://www.lesclaypool.com/news/
11.
Eye of the beholder! Each to his own! YMMV! And so on and so forth.
Agreed, I like scroll designs. Hey Spoombung is the top one the new Pachyderm bass from Les Claypool's recent venture? Edit: I googled and it is but it doesn't seem to be in production yet
12. Boring alert! Yup, a Fender Jazz in early 70s blocked/bound livery
13. After a painful break of a nearly a couple of months from gigs (Easter hols and all that), we are back headlining at The Finsbury, nr Manor House in North London. Date: Thursday 16th May Support: Caleb Deets here http://www.thefinsbury.co.uk/ After that its The Effra Social in Brixton on 31st May
14. Crazy 8 and BigE pics (my ones, for avoidance of doubt, unlike in OP)
15. Only arrived this week (so I've not had chance to gig it yet). Very transparent and allows the DB to 'breathe'. Very like the Crazy 8 but louder and, at home, the vortex inward-facing speaker technology means it sounds way better if you stand further away (6 feet plus). You will be pleased
16. and another!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr0Wmshs-tg
17. Another one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xajGdLDefQI
18. Thanks! Incidentally the cajon bag is a quality padded bag by Meinl and was recommended on TalkBass as a suitable carrying vehicle for the Crazy 8. Its very cat-friendly as it has (fake) sheepskin inside - my cat has eyed it up on a number of occasions but I've always headed it off at the pass! 19. I came across this album ('Butches Brew' by Butch Cassidy Sound System) a few years ago on an obscure radio show. Its utterly excellent and fits my Friday afternoon mood perfectly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgmYFPR6evw

BC's number one wordsmith and raconteur just bought a compression pedal off me. All tickety-boo and that sort of thing
21. In case you want further reading, here's 8 pages of discussion on TalkBass: http://www.talkbass....-winner-848274/ Edit: prefer cash but would also consider p/x (with cash your way) for a two-channel Series 4 Acoustic Image Image Clarus+ head (my Ten2 combo only has the one-channel head)

23. Mike Arnopol is at the forefront of a new wave of cabs in the US voiced for double bass. I am selling one of his Crazy 8 cabs - a 1x8" micro cab that is perfect for quieter gigs, coffee shop gigs, band practices etc. Mine is tweeterless and has a retracting tilt leg option (although I just use it sat upright with my EA or Acoustic Image amp on top). Its still in excellent condition and I have bought a cajon padded gig bag, which fits the cab and leaves some room at one end for amp and cables, to sling it over my shoulder. Needless to say its an incredibly light cab (maybe 12-13 pounds, I've not weighed it though) so with a lightweight head (eg, my EA Micro plus cab) in the cajon bag it is a breeze to carry to gigs. So why sell? Because I've just received Mike Arnopol's bigger Big E 4x5" cab (I need more volume in my band due to playing more at 'rock volumes' with drummer, guitar, mandolin and two vocals). I paid just over £500 including import duty to get my Crazy 8 into the country and the cajon bag was another £50, so I have £550 in this. I would be looking for £450 due to its excellent condition and scarcity value, collected/meet-up in London. Post would be another £15-20 I guess. General blurb on the Crazy 8: http://www.gigmaster...orks_v3_007.htm Couple of pics of other people's Crazy 8's (mine is without tweeter, otherwise visually identical):
24.
Another vote for Danny Thompson. So many great tracks to choose from but I'm particularly fond of his work on David Syvian's Ink in the Well from Brilliant Trees.
Absolutely love his playing on that - was the first time I heard Danny back in the mid-80s when I was a Japan fan and I fell in love with his singular, buzzy tone
