BC'er bassace (see post #2 above) also has a Bryant, among a collection of nice DBs, and is very complimentary about it. So does BC'er FLoyd Elgar. You could always PM them for a third party opinion. However, like Nick says, I have only seen very good comments about Bryant instruments

I am looking to sell a pristine (imported from US manufacturer by me in past year) Acme Low B2 2x10" cab (its the 4 ohm version). Its very hi-fi and excellent for double bass, being very uncoloured (a la Euphonic Audio). Has tons of bottom end (hence name) and goes loud with sufficient juice (500W is ideal). My problem is, superb though it is, it weighs 50 pounds and I need ultralight with my back. Asking £400 collected (will post for £15 in UK) - a 30% discount to what it would cost to import new (c.£575 incl shipping and import duty). You know my feedback so when I say its pristine, it really is pristine! My endless string experimenting has left me with two spare sets of Mittels I don't need: [s]1. A set of 3/4 size Spiro Mittels in generally good but not excellent condition (typically for these strings, there is some fray/silk damage especially at the peg end from fitting and removal - however the playing area of the strings is in excellent shape and these have years of life in them). Will sell for [b]£50 posted[/b][/s]GONE 2. A set of 3/4 Spiro MIttels that I bought recently off BassChat for which the silks are frayed but strings otherwise good with years of life on ADG (better condition in fact than the set above); the E though has some breaks in the metal windings around the B (which are rough enough to catch on the finger and buzz on the board) and is to be frank only worth keeping as an emergency backup. So effectively this is a three-quarter set with a dodgy E. I think I paid £45 for the lot and I will sell for [b]£40 posted[/b].

Hi Chris, its very clear/hi-fi and uncoloured to my ears. A bit like Euphonic Audio in character. Goes very low and can handle 5 strings (hence Low B name), not that I have a 5 stringer! Gwilym has a pair of B1's (half a B2!) and I think Dood used to own a B2 so you could PM them for an unbiased third party opinion? Just checked new pricing: its $639 plus shipping (about $125 from memory), add in 21% HMRC/import and divide by 1.60 xc rate = £578 to get one into the UK, so £400 (if collected) is a 30% discount for a pristine, as-new example

I imported this cab from the US manufacturer about 9 months ago. Its utterly superb for loud double bass applications and as a hi-fi cab for electric bass. Its the louder 4 ohm version as these are noted as slightly inefficient cabs, requiring a lot of "juice" (500W from an amp is good) to get maximum volume and performance. I cannot fault this amp for performance. However, I have a dodgy back and at 50 pounds its too heavy for me to hoik in and out of venues. I am going to replace with a lightweight, high quality 1x12" (EA or Epifani) for louder gigs with my DB. So this uber-quality and hard-to-find on these shores cab is up for grabs at a very reasonable £400 collected. It cost me about £550 to import, including duty/HMRC costs and delivery. It is in perfect condition and comes with a flimsy (frankly rubbish) slip cover from the manufacturer, which at least prevents knocks and keeps out the elements. Hi Gareth, the only thing I could really do with is a nice lightweight but high quality 1x12" (EA or Epifani) to go louder with my DB than my Crazy8 (1x8") cab. I have an Acme Low B2 (2x10") which sounds superb but at 50 pounds is too much for my glass back and will be up for sale soon. Don't suppose you want rid of one of your Epifani's?
