1. Hi all, my band All The Queens Ravens will be releasing its first album around the end of this year or early next. It has fallen to me to find out who we should get to record the CDs and print the album covers and of course the costs involved. So: 1. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable cheap company that could record the CDs (we are thinking 500+, others in the band say 1,000 but it depends on cost). Nothing fancy like printed on graphics etc, just simple. We would supply the mastered music. What sort of cost per unit are we looking at? 2. Ditto for CD sleeves? We are thinking of cardboard sleeves, rather than plastic jewel cases, possibly gatefold depending on price. We would supply the cover art. If either company (or maybe its one?) were London-based all the better as we could actually visit but its not vital This is all new to me so any help or input would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers Clarky
2.
Great bass!!! I had lots of fun with it!!! Sounds like thunder!!
Cheers! I should have stayed with my 4-string Thumb as I am no 5-string player, oh well
3.
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the wal community? Also how would we contact this community should I need a reference.
I assume the seller is referring to the walbassesnaturally forum http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/walbassesnaturally/messages/13193?xm=1&o=1&l=1
4. Looks great, Wayne. Are you tempted to get a checkerboard scratchplate though?
5. Bump. Would also potentially do some sort of trade vs a fretless Precision (US or CIJ only; and passive, not modded/active) with some cash my way
6. Thats not even a decal. Its just written on in felt tip pen!
7. Thanks CV! According to another thread, Warwick's are "becoming cool" again. So here's your chance to shape up, dweebs!
8.
Er.........
Well you did ask http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xggFzkyd288
9. That would make for a visually exciting rock gig ... or perhaps not. Bring back Keith Emerson, stabbing his Hammond organ I say
10. Ha ha! Well I had a great holiday, Keith, by Lake Maggiore and was under orders from SWMBO not to access the interweb
11. I bought this beautiful custom Warwick bass a few months back but (1) I still am not taking to five strings like the proverbial duck to water and (2) I have just had a family holiday in Italy that cost rather more than budgeted for. So up it goes FS again £1,000 ono collected from London. Comes with heavy-duty aluminium Warwick Rock case which will make postage more expensive than usual (call it £40 and if its less I will refund the difference) Here is the original FS thread from the BC'er I bought it from, including several decent photos http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1674992 I have added removable dot position markers since taking ownership and removable fluorescent side dots, other than that its in the same condition.
12. Chris bought some DB strings from me. As ever, a pleasure to deal with
13.
Is this sold?
It is now!
14. I've played this bass and it is genuinely a quite wonderful bit of gear with superior tonal capabailities and just so playable. Even silddx (who genuinely describes Wals as ugly dogs or similar) was moved to think he'd like one after laying hands on this at a recent get-together. Whoever buys this will be a happy bunny
15. +1 to GAS and fashion. In my time on BC there have been countless waves of interest in new brands/models (TC gear, Sue Ryder, lately Gallien-Krueger and Genz amplificatiion, basically whatever the newest class D micro-amp is etc etc) It does mean there are some quite fantastic bits of kit becoming available at bargain prices (eg, Aguilar amps have been coming up here at great prices and Stingray prices have nose-dived with several changing hands at a previous-unthinkable c£600) PS, glad you like the cab Tom
16. Tom bought an EA cab from me. He is an an unfailingly polite and friendly person who is a credit to BC
17. Nice one Ad. Look forward to hearing this but also - like you - when back from hols
18. I have a BO 5 broad neck but I would want to recoup most/all of the £1050 I paid for it only a few months ago (like someone says, its a custom shop option and therefore very pricey). Edit: referencing post below, i don't notice neck dive (although I use a 3" wide padded leather strap) but it is quite heavy at around 11 pounds
19. you know Jack and I - a 50 something and a nearly 50-something - down with the kids. Not in the least bit embarrassing. Innit?
20.
But is he hench?
dench, bruv
21. Maybe Barnes-dwelling R-Patz will be there, drowning his sorrow after being cheated on by perma-misery vampiress Kristen Stewart? Sadly chaps I cannot be there, despite it being my neck of the woods too (keeping up the vampire theme) as i will be out of country. I know its an extreme way to avoid MacDaddy's spandex strides but a man's gotta do ...
22. No pressure at all from me mate! Get the right price, not the first price - seriously In between times, here is Mike Rutherford in early 70s Genesis playing a lookalike of your bass and sounding mighty good, nay superb. Loads of close ups from about 3 minutes in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpILkBBve7k&feature=related
