Having funds in from selling my fretless Wal, I wanted to buy a high quality Fender Precision alternative that would deliver a broad range of tones, have a fast neck ... and look nice I recently played Nigel/silddx' chrome Warwick Streamer and, while the finish was definitely not 'me', the ebony board was just lovely. That got me thinking about a Warwick Thumb.
After a bit of research and consulting with alanbass1 (a P man whose go-to bass is now a Thumb NT) I ended up at the Bass Gallery and bought this beauty. Its very slick playing, boasts wonderful tones and the ebony board is just fantastic. Despite the bubinga body, not too heavy either at 9.8 pounds (I had a lovely bubinga Corvette fretless that weighed about 12 pounds and so had to go ...)
