I've not had any interest in this lovely bass, which has genuinely surprised me. Furthermore the 'London bus effect' seems to have happened with another nice (and cheaper) fretless Wal FS on BassChat and one on eBay. Hence it looks like a bad time to be selling a fretless Wal and so I am therefore withdrawing my bass from sale. Meanwhile if anyone searches for a fretless Wal and finds this thread at some point in the future please PM me I remain interested in a p/x (with a slug of cash my way) against a fretless sunburst US Precision or a Takamine TB10
Barry doesn't play fretless (just nice use of effects) But Davy Jay yes used a pick on his Fless a lot. Some of Carles Benevent's stuff is on fretless & he uses a pick. Rule 1 --- There are no rules!!! B
Isn't this fretless playing by Barry Adamson? If not, sure sounds like it!

The previous sale of this barely-used Midget T cab fell through as the tweeter housing was damaged, we believe by the courier company en route to my original buyer, Mr_Bassman (Keith). Alex at Barefaced has kindly taken the cab back and restored it to as-new condition and is holding it for me. As I am the happy owner of a Compact this Midget is surplus to my needs and up for sale again now that it is in perfect working order. Please note the cab will be dispatched to the buyer directly from Barefaced. As before its £475 posted including a custom padded cover. I am currently abroad with only sporadic internet access so this is more of a heads up. I will be back and able to deal with this mid-August.

Didn't Barry Adamson (Magazine, The Bad Seeds) and David Jay (Bauhaus) both play fretless basses with picks?

I've sold maybe 15 basses on BassChat. If the price is right and the advert makes clear what is and is not acceptable then your bass will sell. These are unusual times, though, and money is in short supply so that quality basses that would have been snapped up 12-18 months ago (like yours) are now languishing on the FS pages and getting bumped endlessly. PS. Would you part with a grand without asking questions first? Perfectly reasonable to get lots of questions, although I admit that lowball offers always annoy me or offers that are clearly pointless (eg, would you sell me your custom shop Fender for £500, a Warwick amp and a Squier Affinity?)

I like the TH500. Its a good old school sound - I am not sure the hi fi slappers (you know what I mean) would be so keen, but for meat n potatoes rock and old style funk/R&B its great - I will be sticking with mine PS, good luck Phil, will pay you a visit after the summer

I would love to have a go on one of these. Might help my dodgy fretless intonation with the shorter scale and sounds wonderful from the various YouTube clips

For floppy hat, flares and glove-wearing it has to be Nigel silddx Otherwise I'd go for Paul Simonon ... and DEFINITELY NOT this guy

Out of Action For A Few Days Due To Injured Hand
Clarky replied to Mr Bassman's topic in General Discussion
...and I've got a basic Aria PJ fretless you could borrow if that'd help you get through a gig.
Kind offer but I know Keith has a PJ fretless (my old one!) so I guess the damage is bad enough that he can't play any bass in the next week ... -
He must really have placed a lot of pressure on the neck for that to happen ... or he had a bad case of woodworm. Either way, I know I'd be utterly bummed if that happened to my lovely Kolstein DB. Looks like this guy needs to bring a Fender bass as backup to future gigs!

Out of Action For A Few Days Due To Injured Hand
Clarky replied to Mr Bassman's topic in General Discussion
I can't help out Keith, unfortunately, but just wanted to wish your hand a speedy recovery. Sorry about the iPad too - will insurance cover it? All the best, Clarky -
I've recently gone from being the bassist in a Pagan heavy rock band to playing melodeon for a morris side. Do I win a prize?
We do indeed have a winner!

Derek Forbes' Vigier Passion on Ebay
Clarky replied to darkandrew's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
He tried to sell his Alembic Spoiler a few months back on eBay (I got offered it on the second chance basis when the buyer didn't divvy up, but I had already spent the money!) Derek emailed me and was really charming -
I have moved from death/thrash metal (2005-2007) to punk (2007-10) to voodoo swamp blues (2010+), in the last case shifting to double bass. Am now rehearsing an all-acoustic spinoff of my latest band, featuring only four of the 14 (!) members. Thats quite a shift
