1. A lot of lust so far but nothing concrete. Still-available type bump
2. Thanks Nik and thanks Chris for contributing. It is indeed a skinny neck. Apologies but am out of the office with sporadic access on Blackberry. In response to PMs, not looking for trades thanks - it's a fund raiser
3.
Any idea of weight Clarky?
9.2 pounds (oscillates on my digital scales between 9.17-9.22 pounds to be ultra-precise)
4. If you click on the link (porn pics) in my signature - this will take you to my Flickr pictures and I have added three new pictures of the Bacchus this morning (one of the headstock in close up). These photos were taken with flash in a dark study which makes the bass look more sonic blue than seafoam green. In natural light its more like the pic in the OP, ie, much more pale green coloured.
5. Addendum: the pickups are classic Jazz-style and -sounding pickups, nothing wrong with them whatsoever. I was planning to upgrade with some ultra-expensive Lollar Jazz pickups which cost me c.£130. I will bundle the bass with these unfitted Lollar pickups (which the buyer would need to instal) for £575 (plus postage, if appropriate) Edit: weighs 9.2 pounds
6. I bought this best part of a year ago from BC'er Chris Kelly - its a fabulous Jazz but I don't need two fabulous Jazzes (having recently acquired Wesfinn's Herbie Flowers replica Jazz). It dates from the 1990s, not sure exactly when, and has a sonic blue nitro finish that has faded with time to nearer a seafoam green. Mrs C calls the bass "Minty" and gave me grief this evening when I said I wanted to sell it, as its her favourite of all the basses I have owned owing to her liking the colour .... sigh. Being nitro-finished and far-from-new, there are a few little dings and scrapes on it but nothing major at all. The two main ones are a small scrape behind the bridge (directly behind the E string ball-end), and a dint near the forearm contour, both of which can bee seen in the photo when you click on the high resolution version. Anyway its a lovely creature with very low action and a nice dark rosewood board (wearing Status half-round 'Hotwire' strings right now). I don't have a hard case but will sell it with a thin Ritter gig bag, hence would prefer collection from London. Will post but would need to find a box first, which might delay matters slightly. I paid £500 and would like that back, well £499 of that back would be nice! Post on top, at cost. Here's a pic (yes, mods, its nearly 4MB but its only one pic and my total attachment space is <5MB, so please let it go? )
7. Oops, didn't spot the original thread. Nevertheless, wouldn't just the tiniest bit of market research have revealed that the name is not necessarily a desirable one?
8. Would you have to be one to play one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-STRING-BASS-PRAT-...1#ht_651wt_1141
9. Forum rules say you have to state a price. Nice bass, by the way
10. Here's the rather talented Esperanza on her Eminence (also better looking than me and - though I've not met him - Gareth Hughes, sorry mate!)
11.
That's it. Oh, very nice bass. One of the best looking EUBs imo.
Thanks fatback! It's a lovely piece of high end kit that makes upright bass practical in a gigging environment. It would not be for sale if I hadn't been presented with the opportunity to acquire an original 1960s Ampeg Baby Bass. Small price drop too to £1950, to take it to a c.20% discount on new price
Hi, Just wondering if your Nash Jazz is still available? Also interested to know how it comes to have a Fender decal as opposed to a Nash one? Thanks, Paul.
Hi Paul, until about last year it was normal to 'discover' a Fender decal on a Nash bass. It's only since Nash have become well known (eg through Rob Trujillo of Metallica using them) that they have started using Nash Guitars decals. FYI I used to own this bass and it's a really stunning one, the CAR finish with streaks of silver coming through the relic'ing is really beautiful.
13. Does this work? http://www.flickr.com/photos/64030127@N08/
14. Lest this FS thread is spoiled, I think Wayne's "Done" comment referred to a request from the mods (the post is now deleted) to re-size the picture of this rig (the OP included a 7MB picture). I don't think Wayne has bought it so its still up for grabs!!!!
15. I got this lovely instrument in November last year from SMART Distribution (who sell the US-sourced Eminences; apparently the ones on Thomann are straight out of the Far East). As used by the likes of Esperanza Spalding and Marc Johnson, its the removable neck version which is incredibly useful for touring - I used it on Rattlin Bone's mini-tour of Portugal and it assembles and disassembles in about 10 minutes. It comes with a hard golf case that makes it flight friendly and protects it very well. Here's the specs page from the Eminence website http://www.gelbass.com/bass/bass4RN.html Please click on the porn pics link in my sig below for a pic of me playing it at the 12 Bar club and a pic of it with my DB. Has very low action (wearing Silver Slaps strings) and comes with stand, gig bag and the aforementioned hard case. For full disclosure, it did slip off its stand and sustain very minor damage to the edge of the lacquer finish on the shoulder (no structural damage, just superficial). I have just had this touched up by DB luthier Malcolm Healey so its barely noticeable unless you know its there. I paid exactly £2,398 (!) for the whole setup just over six months ago and would be looking for £1,950. Must be collected (I am in London) as its difficult to post, given the size. I really enjoy playing this bass (its a lot easier than my 'real' DB) but I have been offered a very special upright bass and need to fund the deal, hence this is up FS.

17. I have got myself on the mailing list for BassGear, Phil Nixon's (aka BC'er Born 2B Mild) high-end bass retail venture, as I am awaiting the arrival of an Aguilar TH 500 (Tonehammer) amp. I'm not sure if other BassChatters are aware that Phil is relocating darn sarf (currently he's in Harrogate) and that he has a big relocation sale on. There's some very useful discounts, for example, on BagEnd cabs (£100+ off) and some whopping reductions on the higher end basses he stocks (eg, a grand off a rather pretty Alleva Coppolo two-tone sunburst Precision that Chuck Rainey has had his paws on and £250 off a Zon 5'er). Worth a look IMHO, if only for a bit of porn gazing http://www.bassgear.co.uk/

20.
Sure - since the original issue was reported we have collectively feed up 4.5GB of data (over 10% of attachment size) and at least 3000 files have been removed.
Does that remove any near-term threat of BC running out of space or is there a lot more still needed to be cut?
21. After the fab Paul Simonon video posted earlier, Rock the Casbah (with video showing Paul playing the exact same Precision he is still using nearly 20 years later)
22.
...altho what the hell he saw in Gorillaz I'll never know!!
True but at least it has got him gigging again - I went to see The Good, The Bad and The Queen live in Bethnal Green a couple of years ago purely to watch him on stage as I never got to see the Clash live!
23. Hey Mr Machines, how about a status update (not the graphite necked new model from Rob Green) on how much space has been freed up?
