  1. Thanks, Matt. I have done a fresh setup on the bass this morning so it plays even more slickly and am going to see how I get along with it. Its now withdrawn.
  2. Just sold a Barefaced cab to Harry, who drove all the way from Bristol to London to pick it up. Very friendly throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to the forum
  3. Surprisingly-little interest type bump. May have to put this away and try again when things are a bit less tight. Will give it to the end of the week.
  4. Just coming back to this @wateroftyne would this do the job, affixed to an XLR cable to keep it out of the way of the front of the amp? Sorry, electronics is really not my thing (some would argue bass playing too 🙂 ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/MainCore-20db-Balanced-Attenuator-Adapter/dp/B07SWVVHVK/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1YA5IZ55WDU7E&keywords=1k+ohm+attenuator&qid=1673947672&sprefix=1k+ohm+attenuator%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-4
  5. This will interest you @Happy Jackand @Silvia Bluejay
  6. 0ne time price drop to £750 collected (would meet you at Barnes Rail Station car park, SW13). Afraid its as low as I will go.
  7. Depends on the condition of the Alembic - is it modded, does it have original pickups, is it roadworn or in good condition etc. Generally speaking, most Alembic Spoilers would sell second hand for over £2k and FS ads at £3k+ are not uncommon. I believe thats more than a Yamaha Attitude would sell for. However, Alembics are not for everyone - the Spoiler has a 32" medium scale and the strings are parallel from bridge to nut, so it might not be your thing if you prefer long scale 34"
  8. Nope, it is a reverse headstock on the original
  9. Recognising this is a challenging time of year, after the Christmas/NYE blowout, I would be prepared to do a staggered payment deal of 50% now, 50% in say a month's time to a BCer who has great feedback and/or I have dealt with personally in the past? Based on my price of £1400 plus post (in hardcase) or £1500 plus post (in Mono bag), that would mean two payments of either £715 or £765.
  10. I agree, it's a beautiful bass (I used to own one, called 'Sid') and I really don't think price is the issue, Karl. It's the time of year and more than likely exacerbated by fears over CoL, upcoming bills etc. In short, it's a fab bass and will sell. I just think you may have to be a little more patient than normal. Same applies to me with my items for sale!
  11. Would also do a deal with my as-new Orange Bass Terror amp if collected. Together, a very loud and meaty classic rock rig.
  12. Think this used to be mine. Lovely thing that IIRC is light for a Ric at 9.0 pounds. GLWYS
  13. Orange TB Mkll, bought new last year and used for just 2 gigs. Valvey sounding and very loud but with the clean switch for more modern sounds. Still in pristine condition and with padded bag, also in pristine condition. Would be hard to find a cleaner one second-hand. No longer needed as I have a Handbox WB100 for full-fat valley goodness plus a Trace Elf as emergency back-up. Pics to follow when it’s stopped being so dark and gloomy here! £375 including delivery or knock a tenner off for collection from SW13 London. I am also selling a Barefaced Super Twin with cover for £800 and would do a deal on both (which would make a super loud, old school rig) if collected.
  14. Sold a nifty PJB combo to Smanth. Very friendly comms and a pleasure to deal with! Enjoy, Smanth 😀
  15. Sounds like deliberate syncopation to me but, right or wrong what does it really matter? The intended audience was in a disco, too busy shaking their derrieres and having a good time rather than analysing note choices and musical accuracy. Besides, there are plenty of egregious bum notes/string buzz etc in classic tracks. Take a listen to around 5:02 on Coltrane's Favorite Things. Pianist drops a blooper and I love it and always listen out for it!
