1.
Just rang him. He says he's more a structural person but has recommended Marc Butterlin to people who've had the same problem.
Update: this chap says he does not do DB's, only violins/cellos, so have dropped a message to Malcolm Healey. Thanks again for the tips, gents
See you in the same pub beforehand, Nige.
In case I make it (looking good right now) which pub is that?
 3.
Has it gone yet? *peeks around door* Oh, FFS.. it's still here. Be gone, temptress!
Well hello big boy
 4.
Guess maybe I thought the appeal of doing a show at that venue for a good sized audience was more appealling than it seems from an outside perspective.
Its MASSIVELY appealing but my band could not pull in 200-300 punters sadly ... and I suspect therein lies the rub for most of us Best of luck with this
 5. WD are good. Just give them a call to check which pattern the HW1 needs: http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/category/Pickguar...r_Basses,b.html

 7.
Thats nice. Be even better if it was black
What, like this one? Shameless link to my AV62RI P/J
 8. Haven't you eaten a blue apple before I assume its either Lake Placid Blue or another custom blue (I think there's a Peacock Blue colour)
 9.
Hang on, Clarky, what about the cat? I want to know what state the cat's in ...
I am speculating here as there is no obvious reason for it to have fallen over! The cat* is lying six feet away from my computer, snoozing on the sofa looking happy as a cat that is snoozing on a sofa * name of Snoop Catt
 10. It is a bit pretty for sure. I think a certain personoftyne may like this one! Shudder to think what Fender will charge for it, mind. Edit: MRSP is $4200, which is about £2600-2700.
 11.
Also there's Maclolm Healey in Sutton: http://www.healeyviolins.co.uk/ He makes double Basses onsite, so knows what he's doing.
Thanks J-L. I have already sent a message to the guy LEB mentioned, who is very local to me, but if he cannot do the work I will contact Malcolm Healey.
 12. Brilliant, Ad. Much appreciated. Will get in contact with him.
 13. Have a bump on me for a beautiful bass. Had I not just bought lozbass' Alembic, I would have been PM'ing you
 14.
If they're not set up specific repairs I know a master carpenter who might be just the ticket.
Hey Ad, yeah this is more carpentry, French polishing territory than set-up work
 15. Let me start by saying AAAAAARARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH My new Eminence EUB was sat happily on its stand in my sitting room but for reasons I am not clear about (cat ran into it perhaps?) it toppled over on to my wooden floor. The damage thankfully is not major and amounts to some splitting/fracturing of the lacquer on about an inch-and-a-half of the front player-side laminated wooden edge and a couple of small dints on the headstock. I would like to get these patched up or - if possible - fully repaired. So does anyone know of a luthier in the London/Surrey who might be capable of this type of work?
 16. Just tweaked the truss rod (got rid of a minor buzzing issue at 16th fret on A/D strings) and replaced the EB Super Slinky rounds with TI Flats, which suit the retro nature of the bass much better IMHO. Plays really nicely with medium or medium/low action of 3mm at the 12 th fret. If you want the action really low, it will probably need a pro setup. Any interest folks?
 17. Exceptionally cool! Don't see many of these around, especially original ones.
 18.
He did and you're going on tour.
A drummerless punk duo. That will pack the punters in
 19. I hate bad manners (not Buster Bloodvessel's lot!) We auditioned a drummer and took him for a drink in November. Said he would get back to us that week. Guess what ......
 20. If you check his profile, he hasn't been on BassChat since October 2009 so the odds of him responding are very small
 21.
Thought I should update my post. Have had the scratch pad for close on 2 months now and can honestly say it is a great bass add-on. One point nobody picked up on, also great against the skin when playing naked, so smooth and warm against the skin, its velvet feel is a bit of a turn on.
Do you cuddle the bass afterwards and tell it you love it?
 22.
lovely looking thing - anyone who can source this bass rocking out clean? - every Cliff B one I find he's got effects all over it...
I played my old black Spoiler at the Punkfest last summer (without effects). Great rock bass. You can J or P type sounds out of it and a nice crunchy tone by mixing the two pickups. If you listen to the bass sound on the Black Album (eg Sandman) you will get a good approximation of what this can sound like.
