Spector Ian Hill 2011, superb condition, now £1350 - *SOLD*

2011 Spector Ian Hill in superb 9.5/10 condition. Comes with a generic hard case. This is a tough one as the bass is very hard to find (the neck is slimmer front to back than most Spectors), looks wonderfully cool in gloss black and plays superbly. However, having given it my best shot, the weight (9.2 pounds) is just not comfortable for my rubbish back and I have decided (after flip flopping) to move to short scale only. £1350 plus post at cost (£30 ish in UK). Or collect SW13, south of Hammersmith Bridge.- 22 replies

Thanks WoT. Since this means nothing to a techno numpty like me, is there anyone who makes this commercially? I haven't gigged my WB-100 yet (band hiatus) but should resume gigging soon so would be good to have this in the cables bag

You know the score. 1200W at 4 ohms, 2x12" monster cab. Very good condition with Barefaced padded cover (made by Roqsolid). I got it about 8 months ago on the forum and have not used it in anger once as I also have a smaller-footprint Barefaced Big Baby 2 which it turns out is plenty loud enough for my needs. No box, so its collected only from SW13 London, south of Hammersmith Bridge. New this is £1199 without padded cover. £800 collected seems more than fair. Another deal with Yannick, this time me selling a bass to him (a lovely Serek). As smooth as I could have wished for and has restored my faith in buying/selling from mainland Europe. Cheers Yannick!

2021 Serek Lincoln (34" scale) in deep satin plum. Very much a Gibson Ripper/Grabber vibe visually but lighter weight and beautifully hand made by Jake Serek and team in Chicago. Very good condition bar two tiny nicks in the thin nitro paint (pictured). Plays slickly with new DR Pure Blues 40-100 nickel rounds. Nut width 1 5/8". Lots of tonal variation from the twin single pickups, which can be selected: bridge solo; neck solo; parallel; series (very punchy). Comes with high quality padded Serek gigbag. Weighs just over 8 pounds, so very comfy. Its a truly fab bass and I am only selling as I am potentially funding a new custom short scale and, of my two Sereks, l (marginally) prefer my short scale Midwestern 1. Full spec here for the Lincoln model: https://www.serekbasses.com/basses/lincoln/ £2000 firm price which is less than I paid to acquire this on BC and over £1k less than a new one would cost, including import duty/VAT from the US (approx. $4,000 for this specification). * No trades thanks * Collection SW13 London or delivery at cost (UK only) via UPS. Sausage dog (Woody) not included

I have one of those ^^^ as recommended by Happy jack, including the additional back support. If you by any chance live in London and are happy to collect it from SW13 you can have it for free

From a quick search of google images, the world is littered with bass players whose status and respect is clearly utterly misplaced due to their over-the-neck thumb placement ... in addition to the examples above (Jaco, Victor W etc) there is Stanley Clarke, Jack Bruce, Roger Glover, Geezer Butler, Tim Lefebvre, JJ Burnel etc. Just think what they could have achieved with a few lessons at the Guitar Institute

Does anyone in the UK stock Modern Vintage basses?
Clarky replied to ossyrocks's topic in Bass Guitars
As far as I am aware, BD are the only UK dealer. If you search on BAssChat I am pretty sure there have been threads about them and I recall people being happy with them. Think @Sibob had one (in firemist gold?), if memory serves me correctly. -
