1. Joona just bought my CS '64 Jazz and trusted me to ship to Finland despite being new to BassChat and not knowing me. He was a gent throughout and sent documentary proof of bank transfer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone thinking of buying/selling with Joona in future. Enjoy the Jazz! All the best Clarky
 2.
That's a great pity. The other reason for the Vintage, that it was built to fit underneath proper valve amps, is still valid and a stack of two compacts is not going to have anything like the same visual appeal or the necessary stability. Oh well, guess I'll be keeping my EBS 2x12 for a while longer.
Alternatively Pete you could buy my Vintage Will be bringing to BassBash next month if not sold by then
 3.
If you had another you could run them at 4 ohms!
But then my other kids wouldn't have an ohm to go to * sounds of tumbleweed ............ *
 4.
I have an IntelliTouch PT-10 - it works pretty well clipped on the bridge. It's good for gigs etc because it has a big display that goes green when in tune which makes it useful for checking intonation as Bilbo suggests.
Thanks for the tip. Looks good. Just ordered one
 5.
Yes. Quite a lot more. And they may not stack particularly well due to the lack of Feet/cup things... Someone please buy this cab before I am tempted to do something silly. Don't suppose you would accept a thirteen year old boy in part exchange?
Sorry I already have a 12 year old boy (and two other children). Afraid its cash only
 6. My wife has over 50 pairs of shoes - maybe I should also sell some of them on BassChat
 7. I would be happy with my 1972 Precision. But I once nearly bought a Fender Pino Palladino Precision and I have always hankered after one.
 8. If you are a fretless player (I am rubbsih) this has to be the bargain of basschat. Must be best part of 1500 quid cheaper than new and less than a Mexican (RW) Fender.
 9. Thanks for clarifying BottomEndian! FYI, although I want cash for this, I am not in a burning hurry ... so I am prepared to put it on hold for a definite buyer until next month's Surrey Bass Bash if the buyer cannot otherwise get down to London before then.
 10.
No longer made? Have BFB stopped making cabs, or just this model?
The Vintage is still listed on BFD's website so I know nothing of the comment made above. As far as I am aware, BFD is still going strong, as evidenced by recent posts from Alex on BC about the Compact tour, the new Super 12 cab etc.
 11. Had a couple of trade offers. I'm afraid I am really after cash ( just spent out on a new bass and an EUB). While I mentioned a trade vs a Compact this is much lower down on my list and only if no cash offer is forthcoming - I would only be interested elsewhere in a trade involving a MarkBass NY 121 cab, as this stacks perfectly under my combo (no other MB cab will do this and I am OCD about these things!)
 12. Lovely looking bass. The maple-necked cousin of my 72P which is a fabulous thing (light, beefy, all-round super-di-duper, or whatever that bl**dy purple dinosaur would say)
 13.
I've just ordered one from Paul Herman and I believe they are well worth the money and the wait!! The basses seem expensive but some of the extra add-ons that used to be an add-on now come as standard with the bass such as the case and some of the rarer woods.
Hey Laurence I'm not knocking Wals, I'm bigging up Alembics! I'm sure a new Wal will be an object of desire, based on the pics of Paul Herman's recent creations posted on Basschat (like the fretless posted a day or two ago). I just feel that my particular Wal is less 'special' than my Alembic. Wasn't meaning to rain on your parade!
 14.
Not that this helps you to sell it, but I bet the pictured rig sounded amazing!? Orange sat on top of a 2x15... Shame your gig requirements have shifted. Good luck. (No money to spend on live rig at the mo... Shame.)
It would have sounded amazing on that stadium tour we never quite got around to before my punk band's drummer quit! Bit OTT for the Dog and Duck, Camden on a Tuesday night
 15. Having recently taken ownership of a Wal (a '78 ProIIE) I have to say I think my Alembic is better put together and I prefer the tone of the Alembic. Not saying the Wal isn't a nice bass, just that I prefer my Alembic. I'm sure plenty will disagree with me but the Alembics I have played are just the height of craftsmanship, whereas the Wal is more like a quality step up from Fender with superior electronics. Waits for bricks from the Wal devotees ....
 16.
Ah!!!! that's really tempting, I reckon you'll have shifted it by the time I've raised the funds though. How did you find the sound with the orange head? Obviously a different beast to the terror but same preamp I thought?
One word. Rock! The Orange valve head is very bass-heavy and warm (could not do glassy/ hi-fi if it tried) and the Vintage suits it to a tee.
 17. This Powerball thingummy look like a good idea. I played the whole set this afternoon (along to the CD) and my arms are both very tired. Just ordered one on eBay. Thanks chaps
 18.
Is this one of the ones made from the lighter ply? Damn shame you cant post! Rob.
I'm afraid I don't know which type of ply it is made from. I think doctorbass bought it new in 2009, if that helps
 19.
Good luck Clarky. Do you have a powerball? It'll help build your stamina for the show.
Nope, is that one of those squeezy orthopaedic recovery balls?
 20. More seriously, I am belatedly trying to play everything finger-style and my new DB experience (being thrown in at the deep end) is almost certainly going to strengthen my right hand inordinately (no comments, matron)
 21.
Oh and I have also got an upright.
What, thinking about Gareth?
 22. You old* git, Gareth * 47 year-old Clarky shuffles off in slippers, dribbling slightly from corner of mouth
 23.
Good luck Clarky - and bring an electric with you just in case!!! Might seem like an extreme thing to say, but if you're hands decide they've had enough you might be thankful you have a plank sitting beside you with it's tooth-pick neck inviting velvety comfort.
Thanks Gareth - actually we do one electric song so I will have my trusty P bass with me!
