1. Hey elbassisto, if it helps I have placed a link to your ad on the 'Alembic Club' forum
 2. I play my 72 Precision at punk gigs. Does that count me in?
 3. Very Geddy. Nice! In fact best looking of the three IMHO. Congrats Chris
 4. Any last minute offers, oh BC community, before it comes off the FS list at 5pm?
 5.
'Escape from Obsession for Men'?
"GAS for men"?
 6. "a diluted perfume of slowing ageing lacquer, the original case smell that always seems to linger, and decades-old fags, sweat & alcohol" Calvin Klein should make this and sell it bottles. There'd be plenty of bassists buying it
 7. I have the best of both worlds - a heavy Orange valve amp (though at c.50 lb nothing like as heavy as an SVT!) and a TC450 Classic, which does a really good impersonation of a tube amp (and I doubt any audience member would be able to tell the difference). If its a small gig or practice there's no way I'm lugging the Orange along - the TC450 does the trick nicely.
 8.
Mate, why don't you mention what the other bass in question is because toy might find a solution with the same instrument from another member. Alternatively, someone else might be interested in a three-way deal (no smutty comments please)? Good luck either way C
There's a very specific situation attached to the other bass (which isn't actually FS right now but might be shortly) hence I am not mentioning it Chris
 9. Final bump. There is another bass I have my eye on and this would help fund it, hence I have kept this up for sale. If there is no interest in my AC today, however, I will be withdrawing it.
 10.
Where's Molan and Clarky ?
You rang? Answer is it depends on what gives you the most out of being a bass player. I have been debating this with regard to my 72 Fender P and my Alleva-Coppollo in another thread and its a desperately tough call between inspiration (AC a better bass to play) and aspiration (vintage Fender gives me a warm rosy glow). If I won the lottery I would have a custom Alembic made, however, in answer to the OP's question, as for me Alembics cross the divide between 'classic bass' and superb materials/playability/construction boutique bass.

 13.
Come on you guys, I've seen you both play and you're both as good as I am so stop putting yourselves down (cos if you put yourselves down you put me down as well)
Yeah, you're sh*t as well
 14.
AFAIAC not links to your music mean that as a musician you simply don't exist.
Doesn't always hold true - I provide links to my music and this unfortunately proves that I am no musician!
 15. Thats terrible news. Very sorry to hear this. The price on your Sandberg seems exceptionally generous. Good luck
 16.
I have an SVT and a Fender Jazz with a Badass, so I obviously have superior tone to everyone here, sometimes I don't know why I bother with you lot.
We're not worthy
 17.
Do I need to spend more time in Off Topic and get used to this type of thread?
Think he just wanted a virtual fight. Like a number of OT threads in fact which is why I tend not to dwell there - when I have done I tend to find a large part of my day disappears with little to show for it, other than a greater understanding of small number of people's prejudices
 18.
But in the spirit of self analysis and personal development, can someone please explain why I did it, it's all such a blur.......
Its all that DB playing. Next you will start wearing a beret

 20.
But to rag this back to reality.... are there any cheap lightweight options around - I hear a lot about MB and GB but for us mere mortals who have a couple of hundred max to spend on a top box, what would the recommendations be - Ashdown Little Giant 300? something similar?
Get a second-hand one on BC. Something like a used Little Mark 250 would be close to that price range and cover most small/mid sized gigs.
 21.
I'm not even going to gig now. I'm just going to implant subliminal memories in my virtual audience of me having played a blinder of a show with impeccable tone. I don't need any gear anymore. Just mind control.
Your gig in Isleworth next Saturday was a blinder
