Sorry but thats a non-starter. Plus I really doubt there's a gig bag with a strong enough and big enough pocket for a Walkabout! I want super-light to make my life easier. Appreciate the thoughts though

Or is it too lacking in power? I need something thats loud enough to deal with a club/pub/small hall sized gig (for which the AD200B is obviously overkill!)

I have just acquired an Orange AD200B amp and am aware that valve amps are sometimes troublesome ... so I want a very small head to carry in gigbag pocket as back-up. I am assuming the SWR Headlite, Genz Shuttle or MarkBass F1 are the smallest but there are others. Which one would you choose in my situation (bearing in mind I prefer a valve pre-amp for some extra warmth/grit and as it saves me having to carry a separate pedal)? I have excluded the Orange Terror Bass as, whilst dinky, it is not quite tiny enough, likewise the Mesa Walkabout head (which I already have in my combo). Yay, poll time!

If someone would buy my fretless '76 Precision, I would buy this and move on my Nash (much though I love the Nash, your Jazz is even nicer and prettier still). Unfortunately the first part of this chain ain't happening

IIRC last year Hamster and Silverfoxnik played a big part in the organisation of the SE BassBash. I don't think I've seen any suggestion from them of anything in the works (and it was an awful lot of work) so maybe its someone else's turn to put their hand up, much as essexbasscat did for the North London bash? I'm not volunteering by the way as I am a freeloader

I really like this custom-build Alembic 5'er - a lookalike of Jason Newsted's (Metallica) main bass from the early 90s. Its FS on Alembic Forum but at a cool Euro 4,000 its way out of my league (the guy paid Euro 6,700 too - ouch!) [attachment=53137:60534.jpg][attachment=53136:70358.jpg] -
As my last attempt at selling this ran to 3 pages and had an unhelpful intervention by a certain BC'er, I am starting it all over. This is a gorgeous '76 fretless Fender Precision in amazing condition (a couple of small dings but looks like new from a few feet away, with incredibly vibrant paintwork and the rosewood board is in superb condition). The bass itself came from Vintage and Rare in Denmark Street and I paid £1,600 for it in March 2010 (its still shown on their website at £1,795t!). It weighs 10lbs. The overall condition of this bass is so good for a 34 year old that I suspect it has spent much of its life unplayed in its case - I have unfortunately carried on that tradition as I cannot play it and have decided I'm actually not bothered about being good at fretless (playing a fretted 4 string properly is ambition enough for me). Due to personal preference I have swapped the standard black s/p for a 70s style tort one made for me by the Bass Doc so it looks very Jamerson. Of course both s/p's would be included in any sale. It has a pretty good condition Fender hard case, chrome covers and a certificate of authenticity from V&R. As far as I am aware it is completely 100% original (when wearing the black s/p of course). More specifically, would trade against Alembic Essence/Elan/Europa/Orion 5 (don't like Rogue, Elan or Series bodies shapes) Sadowsky Metro or NYC 5 (black/oly white/sonic blue/seafowm gree - sorry, not lurid quilt maple tops eg, bright blue/red etc) As usual, would prefer hard cash! Would go down to £1400 for a quick cash deal with handover in London (by quick I mean in next week, or goes back to £1500 ono) -

Very nice - I bought an Orange AD200B amp today and am going to end up with a similar setup to yours, albeit likely with a neo-based cab (as my back is a bit dodgy after a slipped disc a few years ago). Very cool!

I own a relic'd Fender-alike but I absolutely agree about the criticism of the heel stamp - it does seem set up for a future scam attempt. My Nash 63 Jazz (seen by those at the BassBash today) has a Fender decal but has Bill Nash's signature in indelible marker on the back of the headstock and the edge of the headstock, thus can quickly be seen as a copy. And no heel stamp. Not that that would give the game away as it doesn't have a period-correct scratchplate or clay dot markers. It just has the general vibe of an old Jazz.
