  1. I had the chance to listen to most of the first 'LP' (up to Chamber of 32 doors). Very clear sound vs original but the bass seemed pushed up very high in the mix and Phil Collins' drums too low (very obvious on title track). Need to give it another listen, along with the second 'LP'.
  2. Bought a couple of months ago from BC stalwart @Sibob, this is absurdly cool (hope it's OK to pinch your advert pic, Si?). However, despite being much lighter than your average late 70s P at 8.87 pounds, its unfortunately still not light enough for my damaged back and neck (back story: horse riding accident, 18 cracked ribs front and back in 2023). Carrying it to and from a 2 hour rehearsal last week resulted in significant pain over the next 24 hours and this made the decision for me. So its collect from a public space in Barnes SW13 or delivery at cost. Asking what I paid, £2200, which I think was a fair price. Edit: now £2000 or very near offer More details and pics in Si's advert below. It's in the same condition and comes with a padded Fender gig bag. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/514522-1978-precision-olympic-white-maple-lightweight-sold/
  3. Apparently there have been limited production runs of these in the past but this seems like a full roll out. Would like to see what these look like when played before judging as some shortie derivatives work better than others visually IMO. I had a Willcock Mullarkey which looked great whereas I thought a short scale Stingray looked a bit like a toy on me when I played it (TBF, the Dadbod fat stomach didn't help)
  4. Good luck but the seller hasn't visited BassChat since January 2023
  5. Bought a nice Trace Elf amp from Mick and all was good! Top BCer!
  6. Ah gwaan! Will PM Mickey
  7. I would concur the TE-1200 and Monza sound fabulous, although I think of the Trace as a small/mid sized head (its not a micro/mini in any sense). The Trace is really quite clean (doesn't overdrive like a valve or hybrid head) but sounds superb. It is not, as noted above, a cheap head and there are many other alternatives with more Watts for your pennies. Disclosure: I have only used at home so far, so haven't tested volume capabilities with a loud band (first rehearsal in a week or so's time)
  8. Andy bought a MarkBass combo from me and all was hunky dory! Many thanks mate and enjoy
  9. I had Dragon Skins on the Fender Geddy Jazz I sold a few months back. They were on the bass when I bought it so were perhaps a year or more old. I found them a bit odd feeling and the E was dull and a bit lifeless compared to the other strings, as if there was too much coating compared with the ADG. I much prefer DR Pure Blues 40-100 for similarly forgiving tension (round core) but somewhere between warm and bright tone, whether played pick or fingerstyle. They feel very high quality and I have those on two of my 3 basses. They also have the advantage ... for me ... of being almost identical in tension with TI Flats, if I want to swap between flats and rounds or vice versa.
  10. Will now include post in £550 price, or drop £25 off (to £525) if collected from SW13
  11. 180 pounds? Blimey, another celebrity on Mounjaro Ps, quickest bump ever!
  12. Maybe @bassadder can help as he used to be a distributor for the now sadly no more Acoustic Image?
  13. Pretty sure I have a Mark Bass Bass Keeper kicking around. These are £22 new and I will throw this in. Edit: I found it! Like this (pic from the web, not mine)
  14. Used to be mine. Its a wonderful lightweight and incredibly easy-to-play bass. I am back on long scale basses now, after my hand injury (largely) healed but this is an absolute beauty for those who love a shorter scale. BTW, the brand new one at Bass Gallery is £2,850, so this is a grand or so cheaper and looks to still be in the amazing condition when I sold it. GLWYS!
  15. I now have a box so can post at cost within UK. Looks to be about £20 from the usual suspect delivery couriers
  16. This is a thing of beauty. Have a bump to the top on me!
  17. I think that was when I played the riff from Magnificent Seven by The Clash over and over while you fiddled with compression settings and it became progressively harder to play! Crikey, 15 years... trying to work out why I am actually a worse player than I was then, haha!
  18. Nigel bought some Spector-style inlay stickers from me and all was excellent!
  19. Just to chip in here, this really is slick playing and super light ... a dream for longer gigs. GLWYS Sibob!
  20. OP'S profile says Treharris CF36 in Wales 😉
  21. Brian bought some Spector style fret stickers from me and all was excellent! Cheers Brian
