  1. A nice black/maple '74 RI Jazz went up for sale on their website this morning. I clicked the payment link and paid. I noticed that even though I had "bought" the bass the payment link remained on the website, so someone else could also in theory buy it. I emailed BD to ask them to remove the link. Shortly afterwards Marcus emailed me back to say the bass had already sold earlier this morning in the shop and that he had refunded me. The payment link is still there on their website (on which subject Marcus said that only Mark has access to the website so he [Marcus] could not take down the ad). Wonder how many times that bass will "sell" today? Sigh
  2. The first post has been updated to say its been Sold
  3. The build quality on Serek basses is immense as is their playability. Congrats
  4. What they said ^^ Good luck dude
  5. Their listings are almost uniformly terrible. Especially vintage basses where people need proper details
  6. I have spotted a few pics on google and all have the J pickup and mudbucker combination so I assume its stock. Looks like early 2000s Japan market only model. Here's a link: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/fender-tele-thinline-bass.123236/
  7. I contacted BassBros about this very bass and they confirmed its all-original bar an old replacement tone pot. Frets are in great shape. I did my sums but unfortunately can't stretch to it. But if anyone is interested in the bass and needs some more pics, PM me.
  8. Hair metal edition: Winge Pison An'o'War Dangerous Tos Quiet Rio Laughter And the two Yorkshire based bands Otley Crue Reat White
  9. Lovely bass. Surprised this hasn't sold already. May be worth adding more detail, eg, the weight and if delivery is definitely not an option
  10. Ray Spex The Skis Ham The Mighty Ah Depeche Mod INS The Birthday Part Grandmaster Lash Hic Funkadeli
  11. Additional NWOBHM entries: Saxo Itchfinder General Rim Reaper Tan Ethel the Fro
  12. Reopening this sale due to change in circumstances. I will include mainland UK delivery and original stock D'Addario nickel wound strings in a new price of £950. Here are some pics of the Gibson HSC.
  13. Here's a heavily modded '66 Precision on Reverb, whereby the mods were likely carried out in the 1970s (ie vintage themselves!) Will be overly tinkered with for most people's tastes (and certainly for the collector) but in my opinion it looks quite cool and I would guess it's a great player's bass. https://reverb.com/item/58282987-fender-66-precision-bass-with-rosewood-fretboard-vintage-70s-mods
  14. All their other basses are wildly reduced. The ScamAdviser website gives the online site Minlove a 32/100 Trust rating. Draw your own conclusions!
  15. BassBros has a mojo'd 3TS '72 Jazz for sale. Not sure I could live with the dings on the back of the neck but otherwise very nice https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1972-fender-jazz-bass-2/
  16. OK fair enough, he was still posting a few weeks ago but I guess we all have our reasons*. * Copyright dumb platitudes, 2022
  17. I have a short scale Serek bass that weighs just 7 pounds and is incredibly easy to play. I have used that in recent gigs, including a more than 2 hour set. But at home I prefer noodling on my Precision. I have (sort of) rationalised that for gigs a short scale works for me in the heat of the moment and with an audience watching. Whereas a long scale just feels right when playing under no pressure.
  18. Just spotted that a formerly and quite recently prolific poster in the Basses and Amps forums, namely bassadder27, now has Guests added to the beginning of his username and below this it says Guests, rather than Novice, Grand master etc. His profile is no longer searchable too. Just intrigued as to what this means? Has he voluntarily left BassChat and this is a way of retaining his posts?
  19. If @Stingray5 and @stingrayPete1977now chime in and say "Stingrays are not all that ..." I will have an attack of the vapours
  20. I listened to the last track on Spotify, a cover of Sammy Hagar's "This planet's on fire (Burn in hell)", feat. Sammy. Really lame and rather pointless in my opinion. "We'll be back" has tons more attitude.
