  1. Hair metal edition: Winge Pison An'o'War Dangerous Tos Quiet Rio Laughter And the two Yorkshire based bands Otley Crue Reat White
  2. Lovely bass. Surprised this hasn't sold already. May be worth adding more detail, eg, the weight and if delivery is definitely not an option
  3. Ray Spex The Skis Ham The Mighty Ah Depeche Mod INS The Birthday Part Grandmaster Lash Hic Funkadeli
  4. Additional NWOBHM entries: Saxo Itchfinder General Rim Reaper Tan Ethel the Fro
  5. Reopening this sale due to change in circumstances. I will include mainland UK delivery and original stock D'Addario nickel wound strings in a new price of £950. Here are some pics of the Gibson HSC.
  6. Here's a heavily modded '66 Precision on Reverb, whereby the mods were likely carried out in the 1970s (ie vintage themselves!) Will be overly tinkered with for most people's tastes (and certainly for the collector) but in my opinion it looks quite cool and I would guess it's a great player's bass. https://reverb.com/item/58282987-fender-66-precision-bass-with-rosewood-fretboard-vintage-70s-mods
  7. All their other basses are wildly reduced. The ScamAdviser website gives the online site Minlove a 32/100 Trust rating. Draw your own conclusions!
  8. BassBros has a mojo'd 3TS '72 Jazz for sale. Not sure I could live with the dings on the back of the neck but otherwise very nice https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1972-fender-jazz-bass-2/
  9. OK fair enough, he was still posting a few weeks ago but I guess we all have our reasons*. * Copyright dumb platitudes, 2022
  10. I have a short scale Serek bass that weighs just 7 pounds and is incredibly easy to play. I have used that in recent gigs, including a more than 2 hour set. But at home I prefer noodling on my Precision. I have (sort of) rationalised that for gigs a short scale works for me in the heat of the moment and with an audience watching. Whereas a long scale just feels right when playing under no pressure.
  11. Just spotted that a formerly and quite recently prolific poster in the Basses and Amps forums, namely bassadder27, now has Guests added to the beginning of his username and below this it says Guests, rather than Novice, Grand master etc. His profile is no longer searchable too. Just intrigued as to what this means? Has he voluntarily left BassChat and this is a way of retaining his posts?
  12. If @Stingray5 and @stingrayPete1977now chime in and say "Stingrays are not all that ..." I will have an attack of the vapours
  13. I listened to the last track on Spotify, a cover of Sammy Hagar's "This planet's on fire (Burn in hell)", feat. Sammy. Really lame and rather pointless in my opinion. "We'll be back" has tons more attitude.
  14. Bought not long ago as a backup to my Serek but, on reflection, I don't need a backup! Plus I prefer the uber skinny neck profile on my Serek. The usual SG bass specs (30.5" scale, pink fluffy lined hard case) except its in the less commonly-seen ebony gloss nitro finish and I upgraded the 3-point bridge (which is safe in the case) with a superior Hipshot Supertone. Nice weight at 7.6 pounds, 3.4kg. Some tiny marks in nitro finish but nothing egregious, I'd give it a solid 9 or 9.5/10. Currently wearing stock D'Addario-made nickel wounds but happy to swap to DR Hi-Beam stainless steel rounds if preferred. Big saving on new (especially given bridge upgrade) at £975 900 collected/meet-up (SW13, south of Hammersmith Bridge) or add courier at cost (£25). No trades. PS, any 'patina' in pictures is just dust, which the black gloss nitro finish seems to attract!
  15. Brings back memories, lovely bass! GLWYS PS, best edit price in OP from 300 GBP to 3000 GBP 😉
  16. Not my cup of tea stylistically ... and a cool £5k to boot. But super-rare (only 50 ever made) and Stanley Clarke afficionados will find it interesting (calling @jazzyvee) https://bassbros.co.uk/product/lieber-stanley-clarke-lieber-spellbinder/
  17. Update: the TC Spark Booster arrived today and - on first impressions - does the job admirably. Aftwr matching levels, it lifts the WB-100 into nicely overdriven territory in an "organic" sounding way (whereas my Sansamp sounds a bit synthetic, for want of a better word). Thanks all, the BC collective delivers again 🙌
  18. How many Precisions do you have now, WoT? Not tempted to go back to a Jazz as an alternative (I remember you had a beautiful early 70s 3TSB/rosewood/blocks some years ago)? PS,both are beauties
  19. If we were allowed to choose an album that is near perfect, bar one duffer, I think we would all have dozens of suggestions! For example, I can't stand the penultimate track (Lay me low) on this album but the rest is phenomenal
  20. Erm, I sold it Gareth for a programmable Sansamp BDI. It does (since I posted this) do the trick but a smaller footprint would be good. Hoping that the Spark Booster will be a small and simple solution
  21. I did and I could not get the same sounds. Mine won't make that grating distorted noise at max Gain. I will leave it to Dave if he wishes to elaborate further on the status of his amp, given the sensitivities in certain posts above.
