I would not buy a bass from this man, even though he can guarantee there is no buckle rash

I wonder if long, luxuriant back hair counts? Note: for the avoidance of doubt, I would also fail on this count, thankfully

... but are you "willing to dress up a little bit crazy and move around on stage to contribute to exciting performances"?

Btw: after yet another price rise, the latest model 4003FG (which incidentally has an unlaquered fretboard) retails at £2,749 at Rickysounds and GuitarGuitar ... so this is a grand saving on new! https://www.rickysounds.co.uk/product/rickenbacker-4003-fireglo-2021-model-available-for-immediate-delivery/

100W Stoneham valve amp - small footprint, lighter weight
Clarky replied to Merton's topic in Amps and Cabs
FYI, this would be the bigger brother (280W) https://www.stonehamamps.co.uk/product/yi200-head/ -
Like a Slipknot song without the catchy (non Cookie Monster) chorus

I am potentially in, although I am waiting on Handbox ....

6. Too many amps (aka "you look too loud")

Unexpected house expenditures necessitate one more in my sequence of bass sales in 2022 - in this case my 2019 fireglo 4003 beauty, which weighs a more than acceptable 9.0 pounds (4.08kg). Plays very slickly with 40-100 DR Pure Blues strings recently installed. Comes with Rick hard case in good used condition. A few minor knocks visible in pics (tip of headstock; rear underside edge; and small [2cm ish] patch of buckle rash, not through the wood) but none visible except very close up. Collection from SW13 London (south of Hammersmith Bridge) or delivery at cost (around £30 and probably UPS?) Sale only. No trades. Also, sorry to our EU brethren (I didn't vote for B...t), its a UK sale only.

Bought a nice DB pickup from Chris. Top chap!
-
I once bought a bass (there's a thing!) that had identical looking strings on and I was told they were Blue Steels.

Or maybe just bypass your LM3's preamp and use a tube preamp pedal into the fx circuit, such as this (no affiliation BTW)? Cheaper option for sure

Does anywhere sell singles of La Bella LTFs?
Clarky replied to Clarky's topic in Accessories and Misc
Update: StringsDirect can't do single LTFs but put me in touch with La Bella in US. They will send at no cost for the string, other than the $20 shipping and handling charge (which sounds a bit rich for a small package!) Anyhow, thanks all, hopefully my over-zealous string trimming will soon be rectified -
Bit of googling (due to nerd tendencies), Pearce B2P bass preamp. Billy Sheehan used a similar Pearce preamp, apparently https://reverb.com/ca/item/4499879-pearce-b2p-bass-head

Does anywhere sell singles of La Bella LTFs?

I got a half reply, asking for the string set number which I duly supplied by return of email. Maybe tomorrow? -
There is a new BB3 being released which is 52cm wide (vs 45cm for BB2) which would have no overhangs with any non-tube Ashdown amp, be it ABM 600 or 750, Interstellar or Geezer head. https://barefacedaudio.com/pages/top-secret

The soundman asked if I could take my cab away and they just DI from my Ashdown amp. Seemed unaware that you can blow the transformer on an amp (not all, granted) if there is no load attached. There again he was also blissfully unaware of the role of the Master Volume knob. Hey ho
-
I was expecting the worst when I bought a used ABM 500 but in truth the fan noise really is not intrusive. Yes, its there but its way quieter than some other amps I have owned
-
I understood that they are PRC built. Edit: Just looked on Ashdown website and the 'regular' ABM 600s (in the black tolex sleeve/case) are built in China. Only the rackmount ABM 600 is made in the UK custom shop

Apologies if anyone came expecting to see us. We walked after the pub thought we "looked too loud" (we are a blues rock band FFS and were booked by a local rock radio station) and asked us either to lose a band member or to play after 10pm when their restaurant had closed. We didn't even plug in or play a single note. The sound man said our lead guitarists' Marshall valve amp looked especially loud and could he DI instead? WTAF
