Nice one Lozz, that's a fabulous weight and a fine looking bass. By comparison my CIJ P bass, which I thought was light at 7.6 pounds, appears to be a boat anchor, haha!

In the absence of any firm interest (apart from trade offers) I am going to withdraw this. My other basses (Spector Ian Hill and Shergold Marathon) are wearing rounds and great for pick-based rock, this offers something different with flats. Edit: above tortuous logic doesn't really apply as my Marathon is now wearing TI flats!!!! Going to re-list this

Used with my old goth band (chorus v useful) and no longer needed. Very good condition and I even paid through the nose (£40 odd) for the fancy Tech 21 padded gig bag (which made travel to gigs on London tubes incredibly easy). Also comes with the PSU and slightly battered original tin. £180 posted seems more than fair given the beautious padded bag! Would also trade for vgc Trace Elliott Transit B pedal

New Amp Day - Trace Elliot BLX130 Combo and matching cab
Clarky replied to bawjohnson's topic in Amps and Cabs
Very cool and I bet it sounds incredible ... but makes me think of chiropractor, lol -
Casual inquiry: would a Monza and Trace TE-1200 (800W at 8 ohms) be a disastrous match? Shame Trace don't do a less extreme powered head (unless you go all the way down to an Elf) (Edit: with my back/neck issues, I couldn't really confortably handle a Monaco ... to provide context)

The Bass Gallery has a very clean (if pricey) Fullerton RI Precision. Looks great and also pretty light (8.6 pounds) https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/fullerton-p-gally-on-me

I think so too. It's £500 less than a new Mex Geddy and has upgraded noiseless pickups plus (I think) an even slimmer neck profile. Yes, some mods but the battery box is invisible to the audience! That said, the various BassChat FS fora are full of what appear to be absolute bargains that would have sold in minutes only a few years ago. Tough time to be selling

Just a quick message to let everyone know that John of Noise Works did a fantastic job of fixing an awful banana neck on an eBay-acquired 1979 Shergold Marathon bass. I bought said bass a couple of months back and did everything I could (truss rod, low tension strings, filed some proud frets etc) but the bass was virtually unplayable - looks like it had sat in its case unplayed for years with high tension Rotosound steels. I tried the Shergold forum on FaceBook (thanks @ash for reminding me of this forum) and some peeps recommended John. Eventually I went with their advice. Over the course of a few weeks, John heat clamped the neck, fixed the dents and bumps on the back of the neck and levelled/polished the frets. The result is a slick playing, low action bass with loads of 70s/80s cred. Very reasonable price and friendly service too. Recommended!
