  1. The necks on Wilcock basses are the mutts' nuts! Wish I could snaffle this to go with my Mullarkey but alas funds are not there. GLWYS, this is a fabulous bass!
  2. Here you go and an underneath shot, showing feet and some scuffs
  3. I have three rigs. I have not used any of them in the past 15 months since I joined The InSect as there is always back line supplied at our gigs (or I just DI from my Tech 21 BassFly Rig). Although this Terror Bass rig sounds phenomenal in a traditional rock and blues context it isn't as flexible as my MarkBass combo so I have decided this is the one to go (my 3rd rig is a small combo for my double bass). Great sounding V1 TB, which does the full 500W at 4 or 8 ohm (unlike V2), in a cool sleeve made by BC's 2×18 making it look like a scaled down AD200B full-fat valve amp. Coupled with a vgc OBC112 cab with padded cover. Will only sell as a rig, so no separate offers please and it's pickup only from a public space near me in SW13 Barnes, south of perma-closed Hammersmith Bridge. PS, the TB amp has the usual soft padded bag as well as a tool box as a hard carry case if you wanted to convert it back to the white, unsleeved 'regular' look. The whole shooting match for a bargainaceous £495.
  4. Just looked at Bass Direct website and there's an ad for some new La Bella super polished strings. Errr is it just my mind but does the description with asterisk look, ahem, fruity? If they had put a bigger gap between the O and D it would have helped....
  5. Was just the bass into a Tech21 Sansamp Bass Fly Rig v1 with DI out. Easiest load-in ever!
  6. Blast from the (recent) past. Just a random bump to see if anyone happens to be looking for one of these rare birds
  7. If anyone wants to see a Mullarkey in action, here is some footage from our gig last night https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/7919-how-was-your-gig-last-night/page/739/#comment-5332908
  8. Bit of video action VID-20241005-WA0008.mp4
  9. Cracking gig at Dublin Castle, Camden. Great sound guy and engaged crowd
  10. Another The InSect gig coming up. Friday at the Dublin Castle  in  Camden. Come along for some goth/post punk and also nerdy bass gear-gazing, if you wanna see a Wilcock Mullarkey in action!

  11. It's roughly 7.5 pounds from memory. I have degenerative neck damage and fractured 13 ribs last year so heavy basses are an issue for me. I didn't even notice the Mullarkey at the end of our 45 min set and am confident I could easily play a 1.5-2 hour set with it
  12. Just bought a Bass Fly rig pedal from Karl. Brilliantly packaged (withstood the rain from courier leaving it on my doorstep...) and exactly as described. Top BCer, top deal!
  13. Anyone in Coventry area fancy some fancy some goth/post-punk on Saturday night? My lot, The InSect, are in town!

  14. Wow! I take back my big bang comments. You win!!! Amazing collection of basses has passed through your hands @Hellzero
  15. And at 13.78 billion years, the only ones left alive would be Willie Nelson and Keith Richards
  16. OK, fretless Wal sold in 2017 for under £3k. Smart move, huh?
  17. 15 pages of feedback and 358 replies. It would take a team of university scholars to document my shame. Plus the universe would go bang. Hard to see the upside from doing it
  18. If I were to share photos of all the basses I have bought and sold on BC it would destroy the cloud, creating a singularity that would end the universe. So I think it best I don't
  19. Three way switch with options of: "Skuzz Serkit" (a passive fuzz); Open; and Tone Rolled Off
  20. In case anyone here is after one, BassBros have a 1973 Geddy-a-like just posted in website ... and it's under 9 pounds in weigh too. Looks v nice https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1973-fender-jazz-bass-7/
  21. On this day in 1976, Siouxsie and The Banshees played their first gig. Steven Severin playing a competition-striped Mustang bass. And yes that's Sid Vicious on drums, as well as MarcoPirroni on guitar.
  22. 1961 Jazz that was previously owned by Pino, for sale at French vintage guitar and bass dealer. Great patina/ageing (as opposed to relic'ing!) But €29,500 seems one heck of a price to pay https://www.mattsguitar.shop/fr/guitares-stock/fender-jazz-bass-1961-ex-pino-palladino
