  1. Nope, Heaven. Underneath the arches at Charing Cross.
  2. This was another cracking gig I went to in 1980 (on my birthday). The mighty Wah. Their bass player Washington had to leave the stage as he was sick so Julian Cope, who was in their entourage, jumped ip and jammed the bass for the rest of the gig.
  3. Found it, here's the flyer for Throbbing Gristle and SPK gig I attended (I really went to see ACR). SPK didn't pull out any sheep's heads but TG had s disturbing video show featuring at one point a razor blade cutting into a large animal scrotum (goat or sheep?) with the b*llock then dropping out 🤢
  4. My fave gig from that era. North London Poly, March 1981.
  5. Just stumbled across this thread. Saw several of the bands mentioned in the early 80s including Birthday Party and Bauhaus (on same bill in 1981, flyer below), the Banshees, the Bunnymen, plus two bands I have also seen much more recently A Certain Ratio and 23 Skidoo. Great to see ACR still banging out new materials on Mute Records and touring. Oh and I also saw Throbbing Gristle and Surgical Penis Klinik, which was not so enjoyable!
  6. Torvill and Dean will be appearing at Bournemouth Pavilion on Saturday. Thus concludes today's skaters update

  7. Very much doubt I will ever find my perfect bass. Being completely honest, my huge amount of bass turnover in the past decade reflects my shortcomings and the flawed belief that a new shiny bass with a wider/narrower neck, longer/shorter scale, passive/active electronics etc will somehow make me a better player. I now have a nice P and J and they are both lovely basses, I am satisfied which is good as it gets
  8. I googled also. This is the only reference I found. No idea if its this guy but he is based in Texas and says he is a luthier ....
  9. Regardless of the accuracy, I think the intention is obvious. If I had a bass shop in London, there is no way I would retail this
  10. Back up due to herd thinning! Now even better value at £450 as the bass is wearing almost brand new TI flats (were on my R*ck for a week and then off again). Don't have a box at present so pickup/meet near SW13 (south of Hammersmith Bridge, in Barnes area) preferred. Or I will have to contrive some packaging in the coming week if post needed
  11. My two sausage dogs have just been for a walk in Richmond Park and eaten loads of rabbit poo. They are producing lots of little tommy squeakers. Thus concludes today's flatus update

    1. Beedster

      Beedster

Think yourself lucky Clarky, I stopped to talk to another dog walker earlier today whilst walking my (f***ing stupid) Labrador Buddy, only for my 8-year daughter to point out that Buddy was eating pooh pretty much as it came out of the other dog's a**e.....

  12. Very uncomfortable after treading on lego

Better than feeling rather lego after treading on uncomfortable.

  13. I would click on the seller's profile and send him a private message. Good luck to you both
  14. Selling this as taking a slightly different route on my board. Top quality JFET Preamp pedal based on the Ampeg SVT. Bought on BassChat maybe six months ago, used for a few hours at most and and not left the house. Excellent (9.5+/10) condition, no Velcro, in an unbranded white (original?) box. Price includes U.K. postage
  15. A * friend * had some success with telling his wife that he had lent the bass in question to a fellow bass player and that he had just returned it after a lengthy period. Cough
  16. I am playing blues/rock so the compressor is purely to keep things tidy, not to tame peaks for slapping etc.
  17. If I mention Ed Sheeran again, will that be the final straw?
  18. Released 2017 and by 2018 it had been streamed over 200 million times on Spotify
  19. Now this is offensive on more than one count
  20. Back in the day, when I was in death metal band Nyx, we supported the delightfully named Necrosadistic Goat Torture
