  1. I got this from my son for Crimbo 🥳
  2. Three that immediately spring to mind: Marvin Gaye - Whats Going On Donny Hathaway - live Bill Evans Trio - Waltz for Debbie
  3. Medium/low rather than ultra low I would say and yes its a 1962 reissue so the pickups are in the 60s position
  4. Tim bought some La Bella black nylon tapewound bass strings off me and everything was grand! Cheers!
  5. Bought on the forum in September, very portable EUB from the highly-respected (and no longer manufacturing) Azola. Planned for use at a series of gigs in Scotland that ended up being cancelled ... and I also have a Takamine TB10 as a portable DB substitute. Don't need both although maybe the Takamine should be the one to go??? Full 3/4 sized DB neck, with piezo pickup (with front facing volume control). Comes with side rest, Innovation Silver Slap strings (plus original La Bella strings) and gigbag. Side dots on neck are stickers I applied which can be removed easily. I paid £1250 and will sell for a bargainous £999. Pickup or meet close to SW13 (London south of Hammersmith Bridge) preferred.
  6. I vote for the mint (stock?) scratchplate in pic 3. Or gold anodised, as suggested above. Afraid the tort doesn't work for me Nick
  7. La Bella 750N (50-105) black nylon tapewounds (trimmed for Jazz bass), lightly used, £25 posted (new £40+) DR Sunbeam 45-105 nickel rounds (trimmed for Jazz bass), good condition still bright, £15 posted (new £30+) La Bella 760 FL short scale flats (same gauge as Mustang strings), good condition barely used on 2+2 headstock Serek Midwestern, £25 posted (new £40+) Dunlop 40-100 short scale flats, good condition barely used on 2+2 headstock Serek Midwestern, £28 17 posted (new £45+) Job lot of DR Sunbeam, D'Addario and DR Hi-Beam short scale strings, some for Mustang, some for 2+2 Serek. CBA sorting and identifying them. So take pot luck for a bargain price of £25 posted (new would have been close to £100).
  8. Last bump before Christmas. Near offer considered
  9. Tee-totaller Silvia's facial expression is a picture at 28 seconds 🤣
  10. I bought some nice old school Optima flat strings from Luke and all was good
  11. £4500, if memory serves me correctly (yes, its only a couple of days but festive alcohol was consumed last night!)
  12. The 'Simple bass guitar tuner' app on my mobile phone is a life saver (not literally obvs)
  13. The shooting of the Deputy, however, remains unsolved
  14. Plugs. My amp sounds sh*te without one
  15. Sold Derrey a bridge bezel for a Rick. Everything was tickety-boo! Cheers!
  16. Is the sunburst 73 P of interest to you @Reggaebass? https://www.atbguitars.com/store/product/1973-fender-precision-bass-1973pbass/
  17. Would also p/x (with money your way) against a lightweight early 70s Precision (1971-3) with rosewood neck. Yes, I know I just sold one 🙄
  18. One pickup version (bridge) but I bet it doesn't hang around https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Wal_MKII_4_Fretless.html
  19. Daphne blue I assume (gone a bit grey over time)? Nice but I reckon LPB beats it for bling
  20. "Roll up, roll up to Clarky's gear emporium!"
  21. Haha, long time (and I mean loooong) time no speak!!!! Yep, still a gear tart. And yep, still not very good at playing bass
  22. And when those blue snowflakes start fallin' That's when those blue memories start callin' You'll be doin' all right with your Christmas of white But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, (lake placid) blue Christmas
  23. They are passive. I had one and it was fabulous but, like the seller, moved away from short scale This gives an idea
