  1. I paid about the same so am returning the favour to the BC community (albeit I added circa £150 of extras, including bag, strap and strings)
  2. Lovely 1987 Hofner 500/1 in good condition for age. Bought off the forum in March but I am finding the body shape and ergonomics a little uncomfortable. Since buying it, I have added a Hofner padded gigbag (it also comes with the original metal case that needs a lock fixing) and a vintage Hofner style strap. I have also put TI short scale flats on it. I took the scratchplate off for a Chris Wood-style vibe but it can be reinstalled in seconds. All of this (bass plus soft and hard cases and strap, plus two sets of spare strings - LaBella black nylon and Pyramid flats) for a bargain £899 posted. Or alternatively its £875 collected/meet up in public space in SW13 (not my home). I attach below the link to the previous sale which details the bridge improvement work.
  3. If anyone is potentially interested in this rarely-seen bass, please don't be shy and drop me a line. I could partly defray the cost via a p/x against a CIJ Mustang (not JMJ or US, I prefer a thin J neck width) which could serve as backup to my Wilcock????
  4. Another Clarky playing a jetglo 4000
  5. Go to your FS ad, on the right hand side are 3 little dots one of which says Report this post (or similar). Just fill in this option, asking the mods to reopen the post and normally one of them will be along very quickly to do so.
  6. My 3/4 Zeller is fully laminate. I assume Jack's 4/4 is the same (pictures suggest so too, albeit it's got prettier coloration/staining than mine)
  7. Having recently bought a lovely, sub 8lb short-scale bass (Wilcock), this cool old Rick just doesn't sit as easily with my dodgy (post-horse accident) back and left hand, so back it goes FS. £2500 ovno including spendy Mono bag (~£200 on its own)
  8. I use WhatsApp when I have dealt with Will. He usually replies within hours. Number here: 07946 023849
  9. I use these, really help with darker lighting https://glowtec.co.uk/fret-finders/
  10. ... not its not @cetera. Not even close! 854 basses. Wonder how many handbags his wife has? https://guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2024/8/musician-whos-shared-stage-with-legends-owns-worlds-largest-bass-guitar-collection
  11. I started on DB with a 3/4 Zeller in the mid/late 1990s. Ended up selling it to Jack as I "just had to have that vintage German flatback". Reel forward a decade or so and I bought it back from Jack. Lovely bass and the vintage thing is fully out of my system, the Zeller actually sounds just as good at a fraction of the price. So, to cut a long story short (I lost my mind), these are bazzing instruments and someone should buy this from Jack asap and enjoy it bigly.
  12. Yep. I have - a DB-friendly amp (GK MB150S) just in case I play DB live again ... I haven't played DB live in 6 years 😕 - a Markbass 121P combo in case I need a cleaner sound than my Orange TB based rig ... I not only do not need a clean sound in my current (goth) band but also every one of our gigs in the past year has had supplied back line so arguably I don't need an amp at all, let alone 3 ... - a "rawk" bass (Rick 4000) in case I play, well, rawk ... I auditioned for an AC/DC covers band a year ago which never got off the ground as both the drummer and vocalist failed to turn up to the first two rehearsals ... I should probably sell some of the above but my BC-addled brain would probably end up buying something else "just in case"
  13. I don't know how to photoshop and I'll wager many on this site can't do it either with the degree of skill required to fool most observers. If this deters just 1 scammer in 10 it's still a step forward to greater security on the site. As @ped says, if anyone has better suggestions maybe put them forward rather than just carp?
  14. Will @Silvia Bluejay need left handed post-it notes?
  15. Just bought a gorgeous Wilcock bass from Alex. Another excellent BC transaction, couldn't be happier! Many thanks, Alex
  16. Don't forget you will need to pay roughly 20% on top for VAT/import duty as the bass would be imported from the EU, so you will need to factor that into your sums

  18. Olympics closing ceremony music section and the bassists for Air and Phoenix have each played US Mustangs and each had a piece of black tape obscuring the Fender logo???
