  1. @discreetwas always entertaining and also a fine bassist (I saw him play live with Pigbag maybe 10 years ago). I recall he did occasionally take breaks from BC and this may be another of those
  2. I also quit for a few years for my own reasons (which I won't go into). But obviously I had to return at some point so I could resume losing money on buying and selling basses.
  3. FYI, I was selling mine for £450 and it has a nearly mint set of TI flats on (ie, >£40 of new strings)
  4. Mine is going back up FS as I still have too many basses (I know). One BCer had first dibs but hasn't been on the site since Sunday and not replied to my PM so I am not sure if he is still interested? Edit: the BCer concerned had COVID this week, which means I am going to hold fire on putting mine up FS. Only fair to the poor dude
  5. Dang, and I was just about to ask about East 17 before East17
  6. The tort from that era was fabulous. Beautiful looking bass with a vibrant burst
  7. Job lot of s/s rounds sold Dr Sunbeams (long scale) plus La Bella and Dunlop flats (both short scale) still available
  8. Action with D'Addario 45-100s 3mm at 12th fret, ie low/medium (in my reckoning). Excuse sausage dog paw prints on my trousers, wet walk this morning!
  9. Looks stunning from that one pic ... but can I be 'that guy' that says more pics would help move this lovely bass on fast? Plus more details, eg weight. Either way, GLWYS!
  10. Pics from previous owner on this link https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/azola-bugbass.14989/
  11. I plan on (yes I know ....) reducing my electric bass collection to 2 (from 4) and my EUB/upright collection to 2 (from 3) so I guess that means I have reverse GAS (is that vacuum?). That said, I am likely to move on my nearly-new R*ck 4003 and replace with a nice old (or old-looking) Precision. So my GAS is for a nice P bass to add to my phenomenal 1983 Fullerton '62 Jazz.
  12. Although not pictured above, comes with the side rest which allows these to balance. Pic from web below as I am being lazy, but its identical to mine
  13. Oops wrong thread. Pls delete
  14. Click the three little dots on top right hand side of the very first post and either 1. Select Edit, which allows you to change title of thread and insert word SOLD; or 2. Select Report. Then type a message that goes direct to the mods asking them to lock the ad as the amp is sold.😁
  15. I got this from my son for Crimbo 🥳
  16. Three that immediately spring to mind: Marvin Gaye - Whats Going On Donny Hathaway - live Bill Evans Trio - Waltz for Debbie
  17. Medium/low rather than ultra low I would say and yes its a 1962 reissue so the pickups are in the 60s position
  18. Tim bought some La Bella black nylon tapewound bass strings off me and everything was grand! Cheers!
  19. Bought on the forum in September, very portable EUB from the highly-respected (and no longer manufacturing) Azola. Planned for use at a series of gigs in Scotland that ended up being cancelled ... and I also have a Takamine TB10 as a portable DB substitute. Don't need both although maybe the Takamine should be the one to go??? Full 3/4 sized DB neck, with piezo pickup (with front facing volume control). Comes with side rest, Innovation Silver Slap strings (plus original La Bella strings) and gigbag. Side dots on neck are stickers I applied which can be removed easily. I paid £1250 and will sell for a bargainous £999. Pickup or meet close to SW13 (London south of Hammersmith Bridge) preferred.
