  1. Your wish is my command. He ate said raspberry (evidence attached).
  2. Here's my bearded dragon Wezley and a raspberry. I nominate Wezley to eat the raspberry
  3. Because its such fun (and Mrs Clarky knows this is my choice). PS, skip to 1:30 to avoid BS at beginning
  4. Late 1990s CIJ 70RI Precision in pretty hard-to-find surf green
  5. Amazing technical skills. Carles Benavent is a (5 string) pick player, though, so really quite different. Have to say I prefer Carles for listening pleasure.
  6. I have fond memories of Sid, my 70RI CIJ Precision from my first punk band Kismetik, a decade or so back. Nice narrow, almost J-like nut width and neck, and my fave style of Fender P logo. So when I spotted this pretty rare, late 1990s surf green edition online I dived in. Also I have been under pressure from Mrs C (who ranks basses purely based on colour) to replace 'Minty', my now-sold 62RI surf green Jazz ... oh and @Happy Jackwouldnt sell me his surf green 54P Lull. Well thats my list of excuses ...
  7. Kept my right wrist strong as a result of repetitive mouse use. Could be worse
  8. Just sold Hodge an Orange TB amp. Very friendly transaction throughout, excellent from start to finish. Cheers!
  9. Very nice Nick. I would go aged 3-ply white or mint green guard personally. Enjoy!
  10. Hey Kris I would advertise the Fdeck separately in the EUB and Double Bass FD forum. Will be gone in a flash
  11. This month Al DiMeola at RFH and last month Elbow at Hammersmith Apollo
  12. I do not believe its available. I was speaking with Rick a couple of weeks back about a 1951 Custom Shop reissue that I ended up buying and he spoke of this replica bass as if it has stayed with him and will continue to do so. I will alert him to this post and he can correct me if I am wrong.
  13. I bought this to get a warm Motown tone, which it does brilliantly, as well as more aggressive valve overdriven sounds. However, I ended up just using the gain on my amp as my band changed from old school funk to country punk! Barely used and in great nick. Velcro underneath, comes with box and power supply unit/cable. These are about £270+ in most retailers, so £180 posted within the UK seems more than fair.
  14. Back up FS. Fantastic loud valvey-sounding gigging amp but the fan is too intrusive to my ears at home volumes. And home volumes/no gigs is all I can foresee for some months to come. I have another amp (Tecamp Puma) so letting this go. £290 including UK delivery
  15. Kris sold me some strings. All good! Many thanks
  16. Martin bought some DB strings off me. Very friendly and communicative. Also very patient when Royal Mail took a week to deliver them first class. Many thanks!
  17. Take it up with Mark/BassDirect if you feel that strongly. I thought my OP might be helpful to people who, like me, had no idea how slow things currently are with the RM. Ducking out now
  18. I have no idea if its untrue and anecdotal nonsense. I quoted it as he was the one who posted my strings
  19. No. The facts that, for me, 1st class mail has failed to arrive in 5 days and counting in two separate cases. No reason to be antagonistic
  20. New bass month and new thumbrest week, obv. Recently acquired '51 CS Precision which, despite not being the short scale I have gravitated to was so appealing as its where the modern electric bass started. Also happens to play very nicely. Arrived with pale maple thumbrest which looked a bit off kilter. Then thanks to the generosity of @Rick's Fine '52, who (as the forum expert on old Fenders) I had asked about the bass, it is now wearing a black maple thumbrest. Before and after pics below.
