  1. Withdrawing this as of today. PS. If you have found this in a search of the forum at a future date, send me a PM and I will see if meet-up or delivery is possible based on where we are at with the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Odd for sure but really interesting and with main man Vicente Amigo on guitar. Going to take a listen to the whole album, thanks!
  3. Last call or the bass goes into hibernation until this storm has passed with effect from Monday.
  4. Well that escalated quickly. Good job I didn't mention the dirty knife
  5. Final cut. If no takers, bass is going back in its case for happier days. New low prices as follows: Bass + never-left-house Gruvgear Edge semi-rigid case + three sets of strings (D'Addario black nylon tapewound, La Bella light flatwound, Ernie Ball [?] nickel rounds) + unfitted Rebelrelic tort guard = £850 collected (while observing social distancing) £875 delivered to UK, £900 delivered to mainland Europe
  6. This week, as UPS are still running for now, an extra £25 discount on the prices mentioned above ... plus I will throw in the spare unfitted Rebelrelic tort guard (cost >£60) for nowt PS, given the strange times in which we currently live, its sale only (ie, no trades). Cheers Clarky
  7. To tidy this up, as there are various prices floating around: Bass + never-left-house Gruvgear Edge semi-rigid case + three sets of strings (D'Addario black nylon tapewound, La Bella light flatwound and the nickel rounds its currently wearing) = £900 collected (while observing social distancing) £925 delivered to UK, £950 delivered to mainland Europe
  8. I normally put the hard case inside a cardboard box and pad it out with bubble wrap. The case itself is worth money and can get damaged in transit
  9. ^^^ that's exactly my way of looking at it. I certainly do not, as a seller, think its all on the buyer if they arrange collection since it will have been me packing the item.
  10. I see, so its the risk it goes astray that prompts this? Maybe I am lucky but this has never happened to me once in the 100s of deals I have done on BC (the latter evidenced by the embarrassingly large number of pages of feedback I have)
  11. If you are selling, it literally takes about 5 minutes to google Interparcel (or other provider), input the details of the items (size, weight) you are selling and the time/date you have availability for collection, get a quote and either proceed or shop elsewhere if its unacceptable. If the buyer has to arrange the courier, they then have to find out the size and weight of the package from the seller, get all the address details from the seller, and find out when the seller can make it available for collection - all of which requires the seller having to provide exactly the same information as if they arranged the collection themselves but requiring an intermediate series of messages. The seller still has to do by far the most time consuming thing which is to pack securely and label it. It just seems like unnecessary additional time and effort to insist on the buyer arranging the courier, as far as I am concerned. Literally the only benefit I can see is that the seller doesn't have to pay the delivery cost as part of the overall financial transaction, but this is usually a small proportion of the total value. I just don't get it
  12. Slight off-piste as its my rehearsal venue (Brixton Hill Studios) but see pic. .
  13. Doesn't help your sale Nick but the special Mustang edition La Bella flats are amazing on a body through Mustang. Expensive but absolutely worth it
  14. For some fabulous Southern US soul-cum-blues rock try El Dorado by Marcus KIng. This song is fantastic
  15. We are all going to be spending a great deal of time at home in the immediate future - we can all go back to our tried and trusted music for listening purposes, whiling away the hours/days/weeks. So how about heading beyond our comfort zone and trying something new? If you are a metal/rock fan, maybe try some jazz or folk for example - and vice versa. If you are a jazz fan, you are obviously @Bilbo but probably a closet metaller (as the great man clearly was, based on his recent thread). Lets have some suggestions please. Let me start with a slightly psychedelic-tinged folk style album in a John Martyn stylee (with some nice double bass playing). Ryley Walker's 2015 album, Primrose Green And some wonderful nuevo flamenco mixed with Celtic music (yes it does exist) from Vicente Amigo: the fabulous Tierra (my most played album of thelast few years)
  16. Trade option: set of Evah Slaps (the fully synthetic set)
  17. ... and as an addendum, my Golden Slaps are now residing on TheRev's bass!!!
  18. Thanks for the details! The original importer of this bass was Pierre of Bass Freaks, the Brussels based retailer who handle quite a lot of JVs. Other than it being a 1984 JV (confirmed by Pierre) I did not have any additional info so that is helpful indeed! It is a fine instrument in remarkable condition for a 36 year old bass and I didn't fit a tort scratchplate in the end as I figured it was best to leave the bass unmolested. Incidentally, I will throw in a used set of La Bella 760 light flats and D'Addario black tapewounds in addition to the nickel rounds (either DR or Ernie Ball, not sure) its currently wearing. As well as the never-left-the-house GruvGear case https://gruvgear.com/products/gigblade-edge?variant=7405213024284
  19. Back up, just not getting on with the neck after my move to short scale
  20. Had an interested viewer but he decided he wanted more valve Watts and so @wateroftyne I may have scored your pal at Handbox a potential new order for a WB100 in the coming weeks. Upshot is this beauty is still for sale!
