1. I wanted all of them then... The next best thing to Guild Starfire, especially with these pickups in
2. Damn... I wanted this bass the first time it came up for sale.
3. Please check out my website: http://www.steveamadeo.com Thanks, Steve
4. Thanks Chris!
5. String a 5 string this way is becoming more common among the soloists.
6. Just did a bass swap with Chris. Very friendly, nice to deal with and the deal was an all round pleasant experience! Thanks a lot Chris! Steve
7. Anyone else?
8. Honey Honey Honey, wah waaaaah, it's so funny, wah waaah, on my double bass!
9. I know it's a bit further than you're looking for but I'm up in Wallasey if you're prepared to drive a little further? http://www.steveamadeo.com
10. Nice Geoff! A lovely tone, full, warm, round, fat, beautiful!
11. 'The track was recently featured on News at Ten's '...and finally' section where they described it as 'oddly catchy' and given the thumbs up by England fans...'
12. Thanks Rev, very kind! I've been playing with high action until recently which I suppose has aided in strengthening my hands somewhat. The action isn't that low now but it's more comfortable than it was. Glad you like the sound... it's getting there!! I think I'm also so used to the sound of Spirocores that I'm stil aiming to get some of that singing tone from the bass even with strings that have less sustain, like the Honeys. So, I find myself trying to coax that kind of sound from the bass. The new strings just feel more comfortable. I'm also striving to get the type of sound my favourite players have, which I suppose is what guides most of us.
13. Very nice Simon, however what I meant was, what does your DOUBLE BASS sound like? I didn't originally put that in the topic headline because it was in the double bass section of the forum anyway... The Roscoe sounds nice though.
14. Sounds great Bilbo!
15.
Great playing Steve! I see what you mean about the strings - the sound of the bass is bit bright, I'm sure it will mellow after a few weeks of playing the strings. The rest is spot on though :-)
Thanks!!
16. Lovely tone and nice playing there Valere!
17. Hi all, I recently played bass on a song written by football commentator Steve Banyard for the up-coming World Cup. The song is called 'Let's Hear it England' and will be released officially on April 12th. Steve is a freelance television commentator covering leading football tournaments around the world. In particular, he commentates on the worldwide television feed of the English Premier League, as well as major FIFA and UEFA competitions. Money raised from the single will be in aid of the Prince's Trust. Please check out http://www.commentatorsunited.com/ to hear a sample of the song and to see photos of the session (and my lovely Lakland bass...) and to find out more information. Hope you enjoy it. Steve
18. These strings sounded fantastic on my bass at last night's gig. So far, very very pleased with them!
19. Hi, I just thought I'd record a few bars of nonsense into Garageband using the internal microphone on my Mac, having just put some Innovation Honeys on my Michael Poller Romanian bass... it's not a top quality instrument, I only paid about £900 for it so it's definitely budget compared to some... but, it's reasonably comfortable to play and is a decent workhorse 'til I can afford something better. I like the strings, I think they'll sound great when played in a bit, but this recording is a fairly good impression of what I'm hearing in the room. Please excuse all faults, clanks, heavy breathing etc....! (The text message received in the middle of the recording was John Patitucci. The message read 'HA HA HA HA HA HA....' Cheeky git!) Hope this might be helpful to someone... Steve
20. I put some Innovations Honeys on yesterday... they sound lovely so far, nice and smooth, not as much sustain as the spiros but not as modern sounding. They have a nice, warm tone.

I bought a Fishman Full Circle pickup form Tom recently and it arrived quickly and well packaged. nice friendly communication too. Thanks Tom.
22. Finally put my Honeys on my bass today. First impressions... they sound slightly warmer and have more thud than Spirocores, not as much sustain but sound more traditional. Using the bass on a bluegrass gig tomorrow so should be a good test. Looking forward to hearing the bass amplified and in the mix too. They feel nice under the fingers... can't wait to try them on the gig.
23.
Good guy, friendly, helpful and a nice case bought. Hope to see more of this adopted Wirralonian.
Thanks Steve, good to meet you too! Wirralisation in progress.
24. It's the fattest, warmest, nicest to record bass I've ever owned!
