1.
I just got one of these and they are amazing - if anyone is looking for a top notch bit of gear these babies and the mutt's nuts.. - truly wonderful amps - unbeleivably powerful and so warm they are the perfect amp for all fingestyle players out there. Bumpty bump - good luck with the sale Steve and sorry about your tax nightmare... tax is a nightmare fullstop! Cheers Mike
Thanks for the kind words and the support Mike.
2. I had a Progress III 4 string that took longer than 18 months. That was with trying on ebay, bassworld and a year in a shop in London. But, I also had a Progress III 5 string that sold first time on ebay. I don't think they're the easiest basses to sell despite how good they are. I think the market for specialist basses like these is much smaller. Good luck!
3. Thanks chaps, Typical isn't it!!! The bass was picked up and taken to its new home today. Sad to see it go as it was a beauty but has just been sitting there doing nothing for 18 months or so. Thanks for your interest. Steve
4. Hi Loz, Thanks for the advice. I'm going to get an accountant to advise me and get things in order! Yes this is probably the 502 the Gallery had in stock. The amp is blemish free, as far as I know (it's been in the case since I bought it) and the gig bag is in perfect condition. The amp is light in weight and sounds great! Regards, Steve
5. Sold pending payment.
6. I'm reluctantly having to sell my Epifani 502 amplifier because of tax bill issues. Yes, I need to pay that bill! Anyway, I bought the amp used from the Bass Gallery in London in February this year. It's only a couple of years old and I had the unit thoroughly serviced by Brian Bond, who does all the Gallery's amplifier servicing. Twin channel with selectable mid frequencies on channel 2. 600w, very powerful, tight, focussed sound. To be honest I've only used this amplifier a handful of times as I've been working on a tour this year with another bass player and sharing her rig. When i have used it I have been very happy with the sound and quality of the EQ. The amp comes with rack ears and comes in a nice Aguilar rack gig-bag. £750 Steve
7. On ebay, relisted yet again or make me a sensible offer. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=009
8. I owned a 5 string Progress III for a while and only sold it due to needing a more traditional sound. The Overwaters are clear, tight, focussed, with an incredible B string. I can't recommend them highly enough if you're looking for a modern bass.
9. Hello, I am offering a course of 11 lessons between now (11th September 2007) and Christmas 2007 which is intended to help players develop their groove playing, understanding of chords/scales, develop time-feel... the fundamental knowledge needed to play well in a band setting. I will be using computer software to play drum loops to develop groove playing, will record chord progressions to help students play along with changing harmonies and will also be able to record students to analyse and critique their performance. I have found this method incredibly helpful for students. Often listening back to themselves and analysing their playing is an eye-opening experience. Also, I believe that a player can develop quickly if taught the proper fundamentals, has a good efficient practice routine and puts in the work between regular lessons. Lessons are pretty useless if a student doesn't practice! If you would be interested in taking a course of 11 lessons (pay for ten, get one free) then please message me or email me at [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you. Steve
10. Want my Overwater instead Steve?
11.
And 1966 Jazz basses are not a great year anyway - they're generally to be avoided if your after a 60's era Jazz bass.
I played a 1966 Fender Jazz at the Gallery in London last year. It was the nicest bass I've ever played. It was for sale for £4500 and i wish I'd been able to afford it.
12.
I am in love with that bass but cant afford it, but, if you gave it to me imagine that nice warm feeling you'd get, its nice to do nice things!
Being nice is overrated.
13.
If you read that using Borat's voice it takes on a whole new meaning!
Ha ha ha. I knew it wouldn't sell.
14. Please check out my ebay auction.
15. Bump... see the new pics and buy this bass!
16. Hi NJ, I had the scratchplate and control plate added recently when I replaced the circuit with the Sadowsky onboard preamp. The control plate is purely cosmetic and you're right, there is a control cavity which is accessed from the rear of the bass. The bass looks nice without the scratchplate too but it now has screw-holes in the body. I'm just updating all the pics and will include one of the bass naked.
17. She's the one and only bass minx, oh yes she is. x
18. I used this bass on a gig for the first time in months on Friday night and it was a dream to play. El bumpo!
19. Yes, beautiful to look at and to play. Come and try it out!
20. Surely somebody is interested in this?
21. Yes Grape, still available.
22. Thanks chaps. Would prefer not to sell it to be honest. It's a very nice bass to own. Maybe if it keeps NOT SELLING for long enough I'll be able to raise the money to buy my gf's lovely P bass from other sources!
