  1. That would be amazing. And a great example of a company listening to customer feedback. I was visiting the Yamaha store in central London today and spent a lot of time with the Ampeg PF-20. As much as I liked its tubey warmth, it might be a tad excessive to use just as di to go straight into my recording interface….I might wait to see if Origin come up with the goods before splurging on an actual tube head! The Ampeg is a lovely thing though….
  2. I’ve switched to playing short scales is the main reason. And I reduced the number of bases too. And it basically is brand new!
  3. Hi Karen, Yes, still for sale. I’d be happy to post 😊
  4. A really funky, syrupy envelope-controlled phaser from Pigtronix. These were discontinued some years ago and really don’t up come often. I spent 5 years searching but after finally getting one, I find my Source Audio C4 does an excellent emulation. This is in very good condition overall with only slight cosmetic issues with the decals. Unfortunately there is no original box but will be well packaged for shipping. Also, this requires an 18v power supply. Any questions, please feel free to ask.
  5. Chase Bliss make truly wonderful pedals and this is no exception. They describe this chorus/vibrato as being full of ‘ooey, gooey analogue goodness’ and it certainly is. As a traditional chorus, it has a lovely warmth and as vibrato, it can get very wobbly. Zack Rizer does a fantastic overview and demo of how great it sounds on bass: More information from the Chase Bliss website: https://www.chasebliss.eu/warped-vinyl-hifi This example is in excellent condition. I would describe it as mint if it weren’t for the velcro attached. It also includes the original box which is also in mint condition. Chase have ceased production of the Warped Vinyl so this may become increasingly rare in the future. My reason for selling is that my wife very kindly surprised me with another chorus pedal from Walrus Audio and it’s too much to have two fantastic pedals that make very similar sounds; sentiment wins the day…although truth be told I prefer the Chase Bliss. This is the most recent Hifi version that includes some very tasteful and useful changes from previous iterations including a tone knob that can push the high end or add even more warmth. HiFi also has several other improvements over previous versions of Warped Vinyl, including a lag knob for lush chorus tones, reduced noise, and opportunities for more transparent and brighter sounds. Price includes shipping. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
  6. My move to exclusively playing short scales continues and this one will likely hurt. This is the last long scale I own and ended my search for THE passive jazz bass. Sandberg make great instruments but this California TT Bass the World edition is really something special. The vintage-voiced Kloppman ‘64 pickups that come as stock with these special edition basses elevate it to a growly, grindy funk machine. This example is from early 2024 and in ‘as new’ condition except some swirling on the pick guard. It also comes with all the case candy including original hang tags! Full spec below including weight but first some video and pictures - A short video of the actual bass for sale: This is possibly the most recorded bass on YouTube with Gregor from Bass the World regularly featuring this edition on the Bass the World demo videos. I’ve selected a few videos below but there are dozens more on the Bass the World YouTube channel! Price includes shipping across the UK. I will also ship in new Thomann hardcase which should offer the protection needed. I can also give the original Sandberg soft case if collecting in person. You are also welcome to pop by to try the bass out if local to Reading or I’m happy to meet up in London. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! Full specs below: Construction:Bolt-on Weight: 3.9kg Scale:34″ Body:European Ash Neck:Maple Fretboard:Maple Frets:22 Pickups:Kloppmann JB61, Creme Covers Electronics:Passive Tuners:Sandberg Bridge:Gotoh Vintage Style Finish:Black Matte Strings: Dadarrio Nickel 40-100 Finally, I also have a Basschat feedback topic. And finally and finally, I’ve also put together a curated playlist with lots more sound demos. I will add more as I find them:
  7. Will be keen to hear your thoughts on this. I have another MF-101 clone by Triungulo but - just like the Moog - the drive section is always active even in bypass. This Past Fx is interesting to me because it does it away with that ‘feature’ and has a master volume.
  8. Really great price and lovely instrument. Good luck with sale!
  9. I’ve been perplexed by the price increase on these in the last year or so. I bought two sets for £35 each when they were first released. It’s actually cheaper to buy directly from Amazon in the US. And I’ve bought things directly from Amazon US and always had a smooth transaction. They also offer free international returns which I’ve used before. Even with customs and shipping, the total landed cost for the flats is £62.05!
  10. This is really cool. Shame about Chase having to limit sales due to EU/UK regulations on the particular component they use. It was also unfortunate that they are discontinuing some of their range like the Warped Vinyl for the same reason. Hopefully, things will change or this will pop up on the used US market further down the line.
  11. Chris’ work is not widely known about in the UK compared to Ireland and the rest of Europe. I never understood why. So it’s not surprising that those instruments didn’t gather as much attention at the auction compared to - by your account - a bitsa Fender and sub Stingray! Someone has posted on the Chris Larkin Owner's Facebook. It seems they bought the single cut you were bidding on as well as the 6-string fretless! They are very pleased with both. I dread think what I might have done if I had been at the auction….possibly have walked away with all seven!! Haha! If any of those instruments come up for sale again, I’d definitely say have another look….although you might have to fend off me!!
  12. Thanks for sharing what you noticed about the condition. I’ll be keeping an eye out for when some of these instruments come back up for sale and having a general sense about the condition will be helpful. Thanks also for sharing the final auction price. The curiosity got the better of me so I subscribed to the Price Guide. It’s seems that the final sale price for all seven of the Larkins were between £600-£750. In my twenty years of searching for used instruments, those are some the biggest bargains I’ve ever seen. Whoever did manage to get one got an incredibly special instrument for a fraction of its actual value. I notice that someone who bought the Larkin EUB at the auction for £700 is now listing it on eBay for £3500. I think that is a little optimistic but shows how undervalued these instruments were at auction!
  13. I know the time has passed but do you recall seeing some of the Chris Larkin instruments and what the condition was? These would have been the most valuable instruments of the whole auction.
