It's a passive Jazz bass, the S1 switch is a God send and has NOTHING to do with active circuits, it simply routes the PUs in series or parallel, nothing more. The bass is definitely not active. I am in East London.

I have a 3TS US Jazz with S1 switch listed here, BUT, I am in London...

Nothing wrong with the S1 switch.
