5. Howdy Selling as Its never used, I brought this just over a year ago as an extention cab and it has been used on less than 5 occasions in the past year. 99% of my gigs involve a P.A or monitoring so this is now redundant. The cab is in very good condition, some scuffs on the 4 corner protectors (thats what their made for!!!) other than that is great. Sound wise, for me they are the ultimate in power and portability. I turned up as a dep for a rock covers band recently and more than held my own against 2 guitarists with monster marshall stacks- when i turned in with this cab and a markbass head, they asked "is that all you have brought?"- they werew both suitably impressed/embarrased when my sound cut through and when I left the gig- bass in one hand, head in a shoulder bag and cab in other hand! anyway........ picture (still with sticker on front grill) here's the specs Markbass Traveler 102 P (8 ohm) The Traveler 102P is one of the smallest and lightest 2x10" cabinets on the market. It can be used in either vertical or horizontal position. Perfect for club gigs, this cab especially shines when added to a Traveler 151P for a punchy, full-range sound. SOLD

Howdy edit* Im going to see if its true that anything will sell for the "right price" Continuing my clear out, I brought this last year solely as an investment as my fretless playing is dreadful. This has sat under a bed now since I brought it but now I could do with some cash so its up for grabs. All original 3 tone sunburst 1976 fretless precision bass and in "very good" condition for a 35yr old bass and confirmed by Vintage and rare guitars in London. In full working order. original black pickguard is not currently fitted but will be included in sale, the bass is sporting a custom made tortoise shell guard that was fitted when I brought the bass. It gives it a nice 60's look. This additional guard will also be included in the sale. Bass comes complete with original fender black tolex hard case, original hang tags and owners guide, chrome plates. A certificate of authenticity from Vintage and rare will be included in the sale. The bass needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. [s]Price wise im looking for £1300 for this fine example. unfortunatly Im not looking for any trades on this[/s]. £1100 and its all yours + postage Welcome to collect from Birmingham (probably the best option) but I will post anywhere in the world, but will need to discuss and arrange postage/insurence etc I am selling a number of basses and amps so please have a look at my other items. please pm me if you require other photo's and I can email them directly too you. regards Mark
8. Howdy Wanted to offer this to any fans of the guns and roses axeman, quite frankly Im not a lover of GnR and wouldnt recognise Duff if he walked past me in the street and came and poked me in the eye!! but I understand that the right person would appreciate this bass.(to either play or put on the wall as an ornament) Fact is, Im never going to use this bass outside the house and Im not going to put it on the wall either. If anything, the signiture spoils the look of the bass for me and the signiture has no relevence to me either.- Although I appreciate that mr Duff is a very successful, wealthy and internationally recognised acomplished musician, just not my cup of tea. brought from an auction in a drunken stupor, Its not very often that you see a bass in an auction and one got a little carried away. (although it was for a very good charitable cause). Bidding was from a distance and under the influence it looked like an overwater or sadowsky!!! the emphasis is on the signiture rather than the bass itself. The bass itself is an eastcoast jazz, and is suprisingly good sounding and playing. Im sure the bass itself is relitivly cheap but it sounds and plays really well. Not too heavy either although the bass is quite big. lovely finish- sparkly blue with MOP scratchplate. Issues- the nut has cracked on the G string, the fretted notes stay in tune but the open note is not. and there are a couple of dinks around the bass. I am looking for trades and will consider anything. (as long as it has no signitures on!!) Bass can be collected from Birmingham or I can stick it in a case and post for £20 Thanks for looking Mark

13. Hi Alex, Thanks for taking the time to post and for breaking cover. Yes, when I first came into the shop I said I was looking around, but the truth is I was looking for the Wal, and I like to keep my business to myself until I need to show my hand, so to speak. I waited for you to be free from dealing with all other people before I approached you, and actually waited for you to finish your calculating. I'm quite shy in these type of situations, a little like the post Clarky added. I have no idea who the Bass belongs too, but it's not an unreasonable assumption to believe it belongs to the Bass Gallery, and that you want to sell it. But, your opening gambit was very negative and made me feel like I was some kind of fraud. I'm sorry that you have people who come into your shop who waste your time, but I cannot be held accountable for the actions of others, and I feel like the cat who got kicked. But what surprised me was after you told me how expensive it was etc etc, you disappeared! I sat for a couple of minutes, stood for a little while, and then left. Had I offended you in any way, because I'm at a loss to understand? What I would have liked you to have done was to stay around and point out all the bits and bobs that I might not know myself. I thought at least you might have stayed around just to make sure I didn't scratch it of something. I'm just the same as anybody else, Alex, we all want to feel special in our buying experiences. There is a clear reason you have put a pic of yourself sitting on a Speed Triple on your site, because you look and feel great on it. Believe me, I know bikes, and know that feeling. I just wanted to feel the same way when you handed me that Wal. Anyway, no bones broken and water under the bridge. By the way, I hung the Wal back up very carefully, I hope this was evident when you returned Best Wishes wicked response mate, you have to ask 2 questions.... Whats the hourly rate of pay to work in a music shop? and How many gigs do you miss out on because you have to work in a shop friday, saturday and sunday?
14. Just playin about with the title but hopefully got the attention! Heres the real question- Anyone brought a decent bass on the ebay for a good price? only to pay for it, wait 6-8 days for delivery, and on the 8th day receive an email saying "sorry but my house has been broken into whilst on holiday, and the bass has now gone" happened to me recently, got all excited and then got let down. Ive managed to get a refund after waiting for many days but thats not the point. Has this happened to you? PS should I use a pick? or my fingers? regards Mark
15. 8 yrs out! sincerest appologies my good man. how about hangliding? regards Mark
16. its a fact German footballers are better than English footballers! (sorry too say) its also a fact that English footballers are much better than Scottish footballers does this apply to bass playing? are German bass players better than the English? are English players better than the scottish? too take it too the next level, Anyone know a good indian bass player? I dont know of a good indian footballer, so perhaps they are worse at bass than the scotish? up for a good debait. well, I thought it was a better post than "should I buy a P or a J ?" "what colour should i paint my bass" "what strings shud I buy" etc Regards Mark
17. you have to ask yorself why you need to read as you aproach the 70 yr old mark! The only reason you need to read is to open some more doors as a musician and make yourself available to many more gigs as a working musician. (unless you have apoint or grudge too prove to someone) If you feel the need to reed then best of luck to you. Me personally at your age would enjoy some golf or fishing out in the glorious sunshine. regards Mark
18. super quick delivery from one country to another (scotland to england!!) as described, packaged well, great comms and follow up. A pleasure- Cheers Chris
19.
Clapping and Counting the 'right' way. So for 16th notes (semi quavers) count:- 1-e-an-a 2-e-an-a 3-e-an-a 4-e-an-a | 1-e-an-a 2-e-an-a 3-e-an-a 4-e-an-a | Really really slowly (metronome on about 40bpm). Now clap the 1(2,3,4) and the an, whilst counting. Now try just the an Now the 1(2,3,4) and the a Now just the a Now the 1(2,3,4) and the e Now just the e Now the e and the an Now the an and a Now clap the e and the a (that is the killer-diller right there) OK, do each of these for a couple of minutes, you do not want your bass in your hands for this at all, you need to be trying to get the sound of the qroove (such as it is) into your head. Now try joining two of the subdivisions together, so 1-e you would clap once for. It can help to vocalise these rather than clap them because you are starting to give the notes a duration, rather than just subdividing the beat. So 1-e becomes 'da-ah' as you join them together, whilst the an-a is 'diddy' That gives you:- da-ah diddy, say it intime to the beat, and clap on the d's A bar is:- da-ah diddy, da-ah diddy, da-ah diddy, da-ah diddy | Swap them around:- diddy da-ah, diddy da-ah, diddy da-ah, diddy da-ah | Now join the middle to semiquavers together:- da diddy da, da diddy da, da diddy da, da diddy da | Right out the above rhythms in standard notation (it is not difficult!), this will really help make that link between reading and playing rhythms. Take the tempo up over a few days to a medium-fast tempo, as you do this it will all click into place. Right, now comes the really fun bit. Every single time you sit down and listen to music whatever style it is, break up the beats into the subdivisions, clapping or singing them through the whooe song, intentionally swap between them. Finally write out on a single page every single variation changing from one to another. Now clap, sing, fart your way through that regularly. Now pick up your bass. And do it all on that
A Perfect and easy to understand description my friend.... you could make money from this! Regards Mark
