1. What are you comparing the dullness to? That's the key question.... D.
2. If you're gong passive, the only option is Nexo in my opinion. New they're expensive, but used, they're much more affordable. Dynacord as well.... I use 2 QSC K12 tops with 2 Mackie 1501 subs. Easy set up, built in crossover and DSP and really sounds good. Since it's active, no crossovers, amps or speaker management to worry about. D.
3. To the original poster: what a load of bollocks! D.
4. One sold. Any takers for the other one..? D.
5.
Are 5's out at the minute??
Mines not, it's upstairs being quiet...... D.
6. Of course, you'll need an address to send the commission to.......right? D.
7. I have here a pair of Dimarzio Model One DP120 pickups in excellent condition. One measures 11.19k the other slightly more at 11.61k. 54 mm X 90 mm X 38 mm. They both have 4 conductor wiring, which has almost endless wiring possibilities. See diagrams here. Wire length is good and they're ready to go in a bass. They probably sound huge! Around £80 new per pickup as far as I can see. £50 each delivered. The 11.19K one has now sold. Any takers for the other one..? Edited for better pics and added wiring diagram Cheers D.
8. What's this still doing here people..?? Do you realise how goods these are? whoever is lucky enough to get this is going to have one hell of a smile on their face when they plug into it!! Someone just BUY IT!! D.
9. 2 Yamaha BBT210 2x10" 4 Ohm cabs. One has never left my house and the other was bought here a couple of years ago and has had very light use. Both in tip top condition. There's feet on the bottom of one of the cabs so they're stable when stacked vertically. I'm pretty sure these have Eminence drivers and Beyma tweeters in them. Can be used like a traditional 4x10 layout or stacked vertically. 250 W rms, 4Ω, 596 x 403 x 363 mm and only 21 kg. £260 for the pair. Plus shipping. cheers D.
10. I know, I was only teasing you....... D.

14. I finally cracked Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder last night. Been meaning to learn it for years, but took the time last night to give it a go. Awesome bass line. Also learned Jungle Boogie last week. There's talk of me starting a funk band sometime.......... D.

16.
Thanks for that - I'll check him out - is he a Fifer?
Dennis does all our repairs for the shop and what he doesn't know about amps you could write on an atom. Quick turnaround as well. Oh, and he's one of the nicest, most helpful people you'll ever meet! Mention Deek from HSK recommended him to you.... D.
17. Bare Knuckle pickups do repairs as well. Fast turnaround and amazing workmanship. They know their stuff as well! D.

21.
Bloody hell!
My quote came to around $710 dollars, unfinished and with no pick up routing, which including shipping and the import/vat is around £530 odd quid. An off the cuff price up from the Sims website is slightly more...... D.
22. I have the idea of a rather nice vintage P style bass with modern trimmings floating around my head and was wondering if any of the lesser know/part time hobbyist bass builders on the forum would be interested in building this. Actually, if anyone's interested, add a post to this thread. I can source all the hardware, such as pickups, bridge etc and would probably have it finished by SIMS or someone else of equal repute. I guess I'm just looking for someone to carve the wood do the binding/blocks and fit the hardware and do a nice job of putting it together. Anyone interested? Here's some basic spec details: Left Handed 5 String Custom Precision Style Bass BODY Swamp Ash Fender P style Sonic Blue Paint ’72 P Style Pick Guard in White Pearl Battery Box EMG P5 Pickups, White Hipshot 5 String A Style Bass Bridge, Chrome plated Brass Dunlop Flush Mount Straplocks, Chrome NECK 35” Scale 17mm String Spacing Flame Maple Neck w Asymmetric Radius Plain Maple fingerboard 20mm Radius Music Man Style Truss Rod Adjustment White Pearl Binding & Block Inlays Fender Headstock shape - 5 inline tuners Headstock Matching Body Colour Hipshot Ultralite 3/8" Post -"Y" Key Tuners, Chrome Here's the so called '72 pick guard I'd also be interested to know if anyone makes a white 5 string pickup, either P style or Soapbar. I'm not a fan of EMG but it's all I know available in white and the pickup has to be white. It also has to be covered pole pieces. cheers D.
23. This is all you need. D.
