1. Sold Pending, but still bumping? Which is it to be?? I may be interested in buying.... cheers D.
2. I used ER20’s for years until I found the Earsonic Earpads. I think I paid £15 for mine and I prefer them to anything else I've used. They let a bit more mid range through, so for a bassist, they work a little better. They're also smaller and more comfortable to wear. I still keep a set of ER20’s in my bag as spares though..... D.
3. Sold Nick an MXR BOD and it was a nice easy transaction. Thanks very much! D.
4.
I think the only contentious item on the list is computers, recording for the use of. This is such a fundamental part of modern music (and when I say modern, this goes back to about 1989 and the stuff that guys like Thomas Dolby were doing) that I can't really see how they can be categorised as non-musical items.
I completely agree. Music making software as well, as long as it's kosher and licensed. D.
5. Here we go again. What you require is a Neotech Mega bass strap, around £35 or so. If you need it really long, then get the guitar version. D.
6. Literaly, a brand new MXR BOD octave pedal for sale. In my opinion, the best tracking digital octaver out there. I've tried it back to back with the supposed king of octavers, the EBS, and it was better in every way. I only used it in one song, and a change of band makes it unnecessary for me to keep now. Pics if required, but it looks like all the stock photos, but with added Velcro (proper Velcro). £90 posted. Cheers D.
7. My ACG is a sprightly 13.5lb's. My Wal is a little lighter, and my cheap jazz bass is lighter than a box of hankies...... As I've said before, the Neotech straps are amazing at lessening the weight. D.
8. Sounds bloomin marvellous. You have a nice constant attack in your playing, I quite envy that! Can't say the same for the drummer though I'm afraid..... D.
9. Nordstrand maybe.......
10. A favourite old song of mine, and a good find! D.
11. I'd like to come on the Sunday if anyone's up for giving me and my bass a lift from Edinburgh? Share fuel costs.... cheers D.
12. So, you've had 2 high end basses delivered over the last couple of months, why don't you give us a breakdown on the differences, the good, the bad and which one you ultimately prefer and why..... I don't know the cost of either bass (PM me the cost of the GB as I'm intrigued) but how do they stack up against one another? Cheers D. Ps you should see how low the action is on my ACG btw!! Pps both your new basses are amazing in my view.
13. Kev, you bringing in your Glock tomorrow? If not tomorrow, let me know which day and I'll bring my ACG in.... cheers D.
14.
I'm just not a fan of how their bridge looks
I completely agree. It doesn't fit in with the style of these basses. D.
15. Nice! I was just looking at this last night as well..... Shame there's no native iPad version though, buy it might appear at some point. D.
16. Out of interest, what would a cash price be? Cheers D.
17.
Line6 G30, without hesitation. Both myself and the guitarist in one of the bands I play in use it (6 channels, so we can still get a few more members hooked up ) Sound great, never had an issue with them, battery life is good and the battery indicator on both transmitter and receiver work great. It uses a standard instrument cable plug too, which is a plus. Freedom from trailing cables. One of the best pieces of kit I've bought in years.
I agree 100% with the above comment. D.
18. My guitarist will take this. PM me and I'll try to reply tonight! cheers D.
19. I spotted the Affirma at Alans in June when I was picking up my ACG. Quite an unusual machinehead arrangement if I remember..... Nice collection as well! D.
20. Well done - you should love it! It'll take a short while to get used to the neck profile, but apart from that, should be in instant hit. D.
21. It is an unbranded jazz bass, very similar to Jim Deacon/SX, and it might have been less than £99 as well.... The neck on it is simply wonderful and it plays like a dream. The guy who did the pickup routing wants to make me a body out of Ash, and I might look into this in the new year. D.
22. Nordstrand Big Singles recently fitted, paired with an ACG EQ02 preamp, BadAss II bridge and a new set of Elixir 45-105. Sounds pretty damn good to me....White pearloid scratchplate maybe to finish it off?? cheers D.
23. Bridge p'up 95mm long, neck p'up 92mm long. It's always difficult trying to relate sounds to other people, but the bridge p'up is typically growly, plenty bite but not too thin sounding. Neck is pretty fat, but I didn't use that very much. For the sounds I was after, they're better than the Barts I used to have, better than stock Jap Fender p'ups and almost as good as the Nord Big Singles I've had fitted. Hope that helps anyone interested. cheers D.
24. Our guitarist received his sansamp and is well chuffed with it! Many thanks D.
