1.
There's a long running thread over on TB and I've seen something in there about 320w into the combo internal load, which differs from the standalone puma amp doing 260w into an 8 ohm load... don't ask me how they do that.
It's because the larger, twin speaker combos have the 500w power section and the single speaker combos have the 350w power section. In order to get full power from either, you need to plug in another 8ohm cab. The 2x12 and 2x10 are pretty loud as they come, so anyone thinking about splashing on one, don't hold back. D.
2.
It's M. Look at the "Product Description" below the other stuff...
Yeah, I see that, but it's an S212 image they've used and the code 68S-2124 would suggest it's an S212/4 ohm. Do you know if they have them in different impedances? D.
3.
2 minutes after I placed my order I got a call from the Newcastle branch to thank me for the order and that it went through ok and that I should expect it to arrive on Thursday. I asked why they're so cheap and the guy said that they've basically recieved a batch load of them at really low prices and they're passing the saving onto the customer. Great service and great prices
Is it an M or S series cab? They have the stock no./item description/photo all mixed up and it's not clear whether is the M or S. Let us know. D.
4. GG bought the remainder of Rosetti's stock as they have since parted company with Tecamp. Don't know why they're selling it so cheap though - it kinda devalues the brand. Think Sound Control/Ashdown. D.
5. More info on these newer Pro basses can be found here; http://www.trevorandthea.eclipse.co.uk/history3.html The price this is going for is pretty good - never mind for a Wal, but for an older handmade British bass! It's a tasty example as well.... D.
6. Because the 300w from the amp is 'shared' between the 2 cabs equally, if they're have matching impedance. Also, for the sake of argument, you can't often run 2 x 8 ohm cabs into an amp which can only handle 8 ohm, as the usual load with both cabs combined will be 4 ohm. Having said that, there's not a lot of amps out there that only work at 8 ohm - usually combos. D.
7. I believe they're made in the Epiphone factory in Korea. D.
8. Brand new, never used TecAmp Puma padded bag. Bought last week as well as a cab cover but I really won't ever use this as my amp is racked - I had planned to keep my effects & cables in it, but I didn't realise it was like a mini rack - front and back panels unzip so the amp can be used in the bag. Complete with ventilation panels and everything! £45 D.
9. I have one of these - can't get any better in my opinion. And a nice bit of Old Skool grunge can be had with an EBS Multibass II in front of it. £550 is a bargain as a new one (if you can find one) will cost you nearly £1000 RRP!! Have a bump D.
10. Can you shed more light on the newer model you mention..? thanks D.
11. Yeah, you've already told us that, now move along!! FWIW, these will be available fairly soon. No quoted weight figures yet, but reported to be fairly light. Talking of lights, I like the dimmer controlled illuminated Peavey logo. D.
12. I've recently converted to Heroes (the ones in the white rectangular box) after years of using ER-20's. They let a tad more mid in which I find beneficial at rehearsal or gigs. D.
13. A bit more of an update from Alan earlier this week; A very nice piece of Wenge there on the rear. I'm getting very exited!! Cheers D.
14.
Someone who knows what they're talking about will be along shortly.
You're not wrong there, mate!! Patronise less, practice more......... D.
15. I'll take it please, if I can pay using paypal gift? cheers D.
16. second dibs on this please!
17. Are you saying my offer was insultingly low? Don't think so!! It might have been disagreeable to you, but it was fair. :brow: D.
18. The Elixirs on my Wal are over 3 years old and still have a lot of bite in them. I like! D.
19.
That's a great looking rig! And you have one of the 'hybrid' model Wals too... fabulous!!
Yes, 1981 I believe. It has a curious Vol pot with an off click built in - is the Pro series the same? I've not heard of another Custom that has one. The rig sounds good as well. How was the switch from my old Nemesis to the Eden you have now? I've always liked the Eden tone..... D.
20. YES!! It's a magical combination. Brings out the natural 'zinngyness' of the Wal (and that's with 3 year old Elixirs fitted). I use a TecAmp M212. D.
