Tell your drummer to get his new heads fitted!!!! D.
-
A very loud and light rig there. Always been intrigued by the Epi cabs. D.
-
Glad you went for one Flanker!! I can imagine it sounding hooooooge through that Epi cab!! Especialy with the master volume at 1 o clock (fer fooks sake, that must be loud, unless it's an 8 ohm Epi?). I've never tried Markbass or any other of the other light weight heads, but had a Genz Benz Neo-Pak for less than a week and that sounded (to me) very thin and gutless. The taste knob is very useful, isn't it!! Enjoy D.

Damn, those badges look good!! :brow: D. -
Stephen, you can get these rackmount powerstrips off ebay, not sure how much as mine is now a few years old. Plenty of room for amp/tuner/powerstrip. D. EDIT - here's a link; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/19-Power-Distributio...1742.m153.l1262 Introdelta, as obbm says.

Andy Rourke is the reason I play bass. I learned most, if not all The Smiths bass lines at one point in my life and my poor mother who bought me my first bass had to endure that (as well as early New Model Army stuff [Stuart Morrow was it..??]). An absolute bass genius and seriously up there with Jamerson in his musicality and ability to have a song within a song, albeit with a lot less of them under his belt. Very highly regarded around these parts. D. PS another bass hero of mine from the past is Will Heggie. A virtual pint to whoever tells me what band he was in (but not his most famous one!). No Google searches either!! I met him a few times and he's astounding with the chordy stuff.

Flanker, the Puma can do exactly that sound - it'll do anything from modern slappy stuff to vintage vibes, and mostly all available using just the 'taste' knob. I thought I'd miss the Edens big fat sound and expressive EQ, but the Puma 500 has everything I need. However, I'm gassing for a TC Rebel head (If I like how it sounds I may get one) so keep an eye on the classifieds. D.

Look at the state of that room!! D.
HSK music in kirkcaldy has a nice sunburst one in stock
It's been sold! We can get you another one though... D.

I've had various normal/lightweight rigs, but my latest just seems to pip everything by quite a bit. It's very light - 2.6kg for the head and 20kg for the cab. It's more than loud enough and has plenty bottom end (which is very tight). I really couldn't be happier (and amp/cabs are my weak point as far as GAS goes). However, the TC Rebel 450 looks mighty interesting........ TecAmp Puma 500 TecAmp 212 4 ohm I'm just over the water if you want a go. D.
Well if it was your bass all that would be possible - hence the beauty of having something made for you - still glad you like it M
Well I certainly didn't mean to spoil your party as your reply would seem to indicate I'd done. It really is a beauty! I've just this minute commissioned Alan @ ACG to build me a bass, and I'm sure (as always) his design will be liked/disliked by many.....having a bass design made for you is never going to be approved by everyone (and it shouldn't be either!). It's going to be a long wait for me though. Keeps the pics coming..... D. -

If it was to be my bass, then I'd have had the lighter bit of wood with the logo on it routed so it sat 2-3mm lower than the rest of the headstock. Still looking good though! D. -
Aye!

Well, you've never heard a tighter cab in your life (well I haven't) the bottom end was simply fantastic. It's almost like there's some sort of compression happening. I think the Powersoft derived amp has some sort of DSP. I like it anyway! It could have been a bit clearer in the mid/high end but I never really tweaked it too much. It's always a sh*tty sound in this particular venue, so it could just be that. I met 'The Dude' there, nice talking to you... D.

I'm about to gig with mine for the first time later today, so in the process of packing it up, I took a few snaps. TecAmp Puma 500 head/M212 4ohm Cab and Korg DTR-2000 tuner. Hope it performs............. D.

ACG Filter based pre-amps - the difference!
deksawyer replied to GreeneKing's topic in Accessories and Misc
I'm loving mine now after a bit of a shakey start. When I bought it from Alan a while ago, I thought it would be a competitor to my Wal circuit, but in reality it doesn't come close. However, when approached as a preamp in its own right, I now find it works extremely well and I wouldn't change it for the world. Believe it or not it's in a £100 no name jazz bass, with Bartolinis and a BadAss II and an action so low you'd struggle to get a teenage pube between the strings and the fretboard. I love this bass!!!. I really don't think this preamp is for everyone, but I'd say if it stirs your interest, then give it a go. You never know............ D.
