I think I have at least 1 of my other basses somewhere in this thread, but here's my latest, assembled from various mismatched parts. Still to be lacquered/oiled. D.

Sod it - took the dremel to the peg holes and made them fit!

Here's a G&L neck on an NRD Basses P body. The neck pocket had to be cut away slightly at the heel and I had to glue some veneer on the sides of the pocket to take up the slack. Tight as now. I also had to enlarge the holes to fit the machineheads as well as move the bridge forward a bit to make the scale length correct, which was why I used a Badass II I had so the extra metal behind the screw holes on it covered up the pre-drilled holes on the body. Pickup is a SD Quarter Pounder, with some 250k CTS pots and a 0.033 cap. All in all it's turned out pretty well. I need to take it all apart and give it some coats of Tru Oil. cheers D. Re. the gap. Get hold of some wooden veneer (I have mahogany) and cut to shape and glue to the sided of the neck pocket. I've done it a few times on mismatched parts and it works a treat and is easy to cut/shape/sand etc....you can cut it with scissors no problem. Great build and I would have had that flame neck off you if I was a righty! D.

Here's a neck I ordered and fitted to an NRD Basses body. Took a bit of reshaping at the end of the neck pocket to get the same shape as the G&L neck and I had to add some thin mahogany veneer either side of the pocket to take up the slack. Nice and snug now. Also, because the G&L neck has a few extra frets, I had to use a Badass II bridge I had (because of the extra metal behind the screw holes compared to a std Fender bridge) and moved it towards the neck the required amount. And because of that extra metal, it covered the 5 original holes where the bridge would usually go. Everybody understand that?? Here's a spec list: Body is NRD (ebay and very nice for the money) Pickup is SD Quarter Pounder Pickguard is ebay cheapie Fender Neck plate CTS 250k Pots PETP 0.033uF Cap Hipshot string tree And regarding the tuners, I ordered a set of MM/G&L USA sized ones and yep, they're too big. I think we'll need to fit 1/2" sized tuners. That's the only thing holding me back. Waiting to hear back from ebay seller about lefty availability of these: http://www.ebay.co.u...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I've ordered some Tru Oil, and I'll disassemble it all and give it a few coats of that and reassemble. Can't wait! D.

Many thanks. I was aware he was unwell, but knew nothing more. D.

Looking for a custom s/plate in the near future and was wondering if Howard was still doing that sort of thing? If not, anyone else around? cheers D.

Jim Deacon is merely a brand name used by the music buying consortium, Euromusic LTD, with more recent instruments called simply Deacon. Up until a few years ago the guitars/basses were made by Team International, the same people who make SX guitars. D.

I'd advise 250k pots with the Nordstrands. I recently went from 500k to 250k in my jazz bass with those pickups and it sounds so much better now: less brittle and scratchy sounding. I bought a complete wiring kit from axesrus D.

OK, dug it out, and it's not as bad as I remember it. Pics were taken with flash, so it's warts and all. Here's a link to the images: http://imgur.com/a/7VcFR If there's no interest or offers as it currently sits, then I may consider having it refinished and sell it on for quite a bit more. cheers D.

Here's a Jaydee Roadie II, passive model for sale. It's currently in bits (all original parts included) and has most of the finish removed (it was a bad respray). There's been a pro repair to the neck at some point near the headstock (not noticeable under the paint). This is what it looked like before stripping it: To get it back to a playable, good looking bass, it would need to be refinished and the hardware refitted. I've decided to sell this on a spur-of-the-moment kind of basis while here at work, so don't have any current pics handy - I'll get them ASAP. Any interest or offers..? cheers D.

I've stuck a post in the leftie section, but I might get a better response here. There's a Jaydee Stingray clone for sale at Bass Direct and Mark has informed me it was made sometime in the 90's and I was wondering if it was a one off, or whether John made a few of these. He's unsure what pickup/electrics are in it... Any Jaydee experts able to shed some light? thanks D.

Anybody here selling it? I'm curious to know more about it... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/STINGRAY_Jaydee_4.html cheers D.

TECAMP M212 - 4 Ohm Bass Cab / Cover £400.00
deksawyer replied to whynot's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I also have one of these and would be hard pushed to be getting shot of it.......I would regret it instantly. I had 2 of the 1x12 cabs before and the M212 just sounded better. The padded cover is way better than the aftermarket sh*t you get as well. Unbelievably light and more than loud enough with my Puma 500 MkI. GLWS D. -
Bought an SWR 350X from Brian, which is exactly as described. Shipping was very fast as well. I'm well chuffed and hopefully if you have a transaction with him, you'll be too. D.

Like the guys before me, I've nothing but praise for mine as well. It's probably 4 years old and is as complete as the day I bought it. If my bass is going in a car, it's in the Contego. Think of it as a soft case rather than a gig bag. D.

Can't say much more than has already been mentioned, as it's all bang on and I love mine. It's the first gen 2U model, and does sound fat/warm or bright/angular and makes any bass sound great. I use it with the M212 cab and it's a very light, portable and loud rig. D.

This little lad, who is not long out of nappies, is going to be mind blowing if he keeps this up. I taught him briefly a year or so ago and he's improved a heck of a lot since then. Nothing to do with me though.... He's our singers laddie.....and a fellow leftie!! D.
