Could be interesting, but none of the names mentioned so far seem to have posted anything about it…

No, not yet. That’s colour coding from a previous incarnation. So used to the order that I haven’t bothered to change it yet!

Guess, while we’re at it, the “currently unused section”: And the everyday home practice board (as constructed many years ago by Dadtheelvy) - empty space for trying our different pedals in situ:
-
Ooof, that’s kind of a big question… OK, so as follows: super clean board: Wee tiny board (also used occasionally to simulate bass on an acoustic, using both outputs): Usual gigging board (key essentials): Looper board (for when the motivation hits…): And, just for completeness, board for when I pretend to be a guitarist…

I’m sure there’d be divided opinion on that. I’d like a Standard mode exactly as the original (Octaver branding on the case), then the Waza option with additional volume to the octave down and, maybe, an external footswitch input to allow switching between the mixed signal and isolated octave down.
-
Still holding out for that OC-2 Waza craft…
-
I was torn with the OC-2 between using the “Octave” or “Octaver” model. May be some swapping back and forth with that one… Also, the Aguilar Grape may swap out for a Chorusaurus at some point, but need to track down one of the older models to match.
-
Put together a bit of a fun board to use some of the older pedals that haven’t been out for a while…
-
Work, gigs, life etc depending, I’d be interested in keeping up to date with this!

Was hoping to catch him on the musical War of the Worlds tour next year. Such a shame. A major musical legacy left in his wake.

No, it selects which of the 9 preset modes is allocated to a given patch. So on the DI I have patches 1, 2 and 3 as variations of preset sound 1 which I could set to those positions by selecting the ‘Preset’ control and changing to ‘1’ then tweaking the other parameters. I think the only way to do that at the moment would be to set up the files on the computer with three of the same presets, download to the pedal and then tweak from there. If future versions can copy these directly on the unit it’d be great because it frankly makes me lose interest as soon as you have to plug into the computer to change anything.

Isn't that just cycling through the banks rather than changing the preset sound that's allocated to a given patch?

Fully appreciate the recreations of the DI settings on the FI, they were my main reason for buying it in the first place. However, the DI just seems easier to vibe with - less options means it's easier to be happy with a setting perhaps? And by Preset, I meant the 'Preset' option on the Parameter knob, the option missing from the FI.
-
Can’t quantify it, but I’ve used the FI for quite a while. I do like it, but I like the DI tones a lot more. The option of changing preset settings just on the unit is a definite bonus too.

As an update, I've tried it on an individual power supply and it seems a lot happier with that. Power supply I was using should be putting out enough, but maybe only just?

I've just recently managed to get my hands on an old Akai Deep Impact, seemingly in good working condition (lots of bartering and pedal trades involved...).It's been working fine for a couple of weeks, but has just started developing an issue where the effect is not engaging. It powers up and changes patches fine, and the On/Off switch LED lights up, but the effect itself does not kick in, and no lights happen on the Input Level monitor. Most of the time it stays in bypass, but occasionally there is just no sound. I know these are prone to glitching. Any current / previous owners have any advice on what to check? I've had a quick look under the hood and there doesn't seem to be anything loose...
