Yeah, you may be right... Trying to get the right gauge for that low string is tricky. I'm mostly in standard, but occasionally drop it down to a D, and that 105 can sometimes get a little slack...

Just reviewing stuff again - the 45-107 gauges are all very well, but looking at the measured tensions of each strings, a 110 string tuned to E looks like it would be a closer tension to a 45 G string. Why the addition of a 'new' gauge?

Nothing beats a good tutor, but failing that, I always find the 'Dummies' guides are very good when starting something from scratch.

I feel quite fortunate that I was one of very few dedicated bass players in my local area! Lots of demand. I think most bassists in bands locally had this conversation: 'I play a bit of guitar!' 'We don't need a guitarist. You can play bass.' '... ok...' :-( Made me look good at least!

I bought my Bass Driver ages ago before I really appreciated what it did. With recent changes, I am now regularly playing with no backline, just DI'd straight into the PA. Sansamp is great for this, though I prefer less colour so I run it with the blend all the way off. This still allows use of the Level, Bass and Treble controls.

We really must get a decent video up one day... The old phone-cam video just doesn't cut it anymore. Also, mental note - remember to sing in tune...

I like the comment during the video that they can't really tell the difference tone-wise between the clean and effected tone! This does sound like it's going to be a great tool (no pun intended, metal fans...).

I want to work for Pedals and Effects... They get all the best toys first!
