I mentionned it. She said "awww, how lovely! A compliment from a strange bassist..."
No judgement on you, good sir, just a number of bumps on the forum for a lovely bass!

Thanks, hope you enjoy your purchase.

I love it, would love a fretted twin, but it would bring the wife's frowny face on...

Ha, he's finally stopped keeping that one to himself. He's keeping the red one though, the crafty devil
Oooh, now a red one... I'd be into that!
Gaffer tape!!
On reflection, a luthier will probably do a better job... They may be able to do a repair job on the wood, but that won't solve the issue of it being so thin. A sturdy scratchplate may be the business.

I do want it, but can't afford it. If that helps

Same. Would love to try one of these, but for the prices they go for, nah.
Getting something perfect off the shelf will be tricky - I'm sure some of the guys will be able to help with the more boutique supplies.
Good place to start are the Voodoo Labs supplies. You'd have to check on your requirements but check out the:
Pedal Power 2
Pedal Power AC
4x4
Mondo
I have my main board, which has everything. Recently tried to make up a smaller 'essentials' board. Paired it down to:
Tuner
Compressor
Octave
EHX Freeze (maybe not essential, but a personal favourite)
Distortion
Chorus
Sansamp DI
By the way, I enquired with D'addario about a Stainless Steel balanced set. They just replied:
'Probably not. If we do it'll be a while before we can delve into that scenario Maybe end of the year.'

Oh look a dozen more overdrives, definitely a pedal that the market doesn't have enough of.
Where is my programmable Bass Micro Synth and my programmable ADSR envelope generator? Do they still have an R&D department at EHX?
Oooh, yeah a programmable Synth would be awesome! Relieve some of that Deep Impact GAS (for a while at least...).
Yeah, you may be right... Trying to get the right gauge for that low string is tricky. I'm mostly in standard, but occasionally drop it down to a D, and that 105 can sometimes get a little slack...
Just reviewing stuff again - the 45-107 gauges are all very well, but looking at the measured tensions of each strings, a 110 string tuned to E looks like it would be a closer tension to a 45 G string. Why the addition of a 'new' gauge?
