1. Bought from the Bass Centre back in the Wapping days? Late 2000... Hmmm, I was in the LMS college upstairs then, have a feeling I've played this bass! Couldn't afford it then, can't now, but will vouch for its awesomeness!
2. Whole refret and fret-dress might be good if we're going that way...
3. If you want to switch between EADG and DADG tuning, the only option you've got (that I can think of) is to detune or fit an extender switch. However, if you can live with switching between EADG and DGCF tuning, there are a number of options available. I occasionally use the 'Down 2nd' setting on the Whammy V.
4. This is all sounding really good! Remember, guys, we're only 6 months into this thing!
5. Love that colour, but just couldn't track one down... :-( Still, got one of the Walnutburst one's, so it's all good!
6. Think we've got a claim already , M@23. See if we can sort it out ubassman and jim!
7. The interest is there, but still not yet claimed! 1D... Hmmm, learned to play along with Jamerson and Dunn on this thing... Still, everyone has to start somewhere!
8. It's cool, not taking up too much space, just not being used! Already got some strings put aside for it and planning on a decent set up sometime next week.
9. I can vouch for the quality of cables from www.kablonline.com. Good quality stuff, and Rob is really helpful if you want something that's not on their standard list.
10. Hell of a lot easier to lug around than a double bass...
11. The different tunings is a bit of a mind bend, but good exercise if nothing else! I play around on a mandolin at home, which is tuned EADG... but that's high to low! :-s
12.
For me, memorable means once you hear the bass-line, you know the song. Eton Rifles, Billie Jean, Peaches, Another One Bites The Dust are great examples of this.
I think a lot of the time it comes down to this. A lot of Jamerson and Pastorius' et al basslines would be put up there as 'top' lines to listen to, but if it's memorable we're talking about, then it's a different ball game! Think Peaches or Another One Bites the Dust - three notes and anyone who's anyone knows which song is coming!
13. Bass still up for grabs! Not after any money for this - just needs collection and a good home!
14. No worries!
15. Hmmmm... Fender Jazz Musicman Stingray Rickenbacker 4001/3 Fender Precision ... Can I put Moog Taurus here too?
16. Hey guys, don't be put off by this not being a 'bass' pedal - the BF-2 is a great, throaty flanger and maintains the lows well. I've been using one for a while now and can vouch for its tone! Have an extra bump from me!
17. Hey, Would prefer for it to stay local, but any and all welcome providing you can pick it up! I'd just be happy for it to be used again!
18. Ha, ironically nearly two grands worth of Ricky is well on it's way towards a second, maybe third modification, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it to this bass! Besides, a Jazz and MM already hold the postions of backup/alternative bass...
19. Cheers bud! I love this bass, but it should be being used rather than collecting dust! If taken up, I'll sort out some new strings and a set up.
20. Hi all, Struggling with this one... My parents are moving out of the family home back up in Surrey, long term home of the bass I learnt to play on - an old black Encore Precision copy. I just don't have space in my flat for a bass that, in all honesty, I won't use. Want this to go to a good home. It's used (read faded, bashed and scraped up), but study, solid and sounds good, excellent for a beginner! I don't really want to lose this one, but its taking up space, and I'm not going to get a lot of money for it if I do try to sell! Starting off yourself, or got a younger sibling wanting to start? Help me know that this is passing on to someone that will love it as much as I have! This was played so much that the P-pickup has a curve worn into the top that still fits my thumb perfectly! No case or bag anymore, so local (Portsmouth) collection only please!
21. Update to mine. Taken a bit of a noisy turn...
22. Convienently off ill from work today (yes really!), so I could take delivery of these: Smaller pedal is the standard Dark Driving, larger one is Rat Tail to the left and Grey Stache (with cornea-burning white LED) on the right in one enclosure!
23. Got the tracking number from Ryan.
24. Just heard, pedals are waiting for me somewhere in a customs depot! Cue extortionate charges...
25. Meh. I'm all for moving forward, but Fender should stick to being Fender...
